Hi all, I recently cleared two technical interviews with EY for a pentesting role and was asked to fill out the CIS form by HR. Later, I received a call where they offered me 10.5 LPA CTC + 5% variable for the position of Security Analyst L3. Here’s my background: YOE: 2.5 years in cybersecurity Certifications: OSCP, CRTO, CRTE, CEH, eCPPTv2 I mentioned that the offer seemed on the lower side, especially given my certifications and expertise, but the HR said they couldn’t increase it further and even mentioned they might drop my candidacy if I pushed for more. I’d like your advice: How much should I reasonably ask for given my profile? Should I negotiate further or accept the offer? Is this offer aligned with the market standards for a pentesting role?

I had an Interview(round -2) few days back. Yesterday the coordinating HR called 3 times, I was in a meeting so he texted "Waiting for your call, Profile is Shortlisted and Congratulations". I called back, he explained about the organization and asked abouts current CTC and expectations. Upon hearing he told you are quoting low, I will try to improve this figure. A little after I called back and he said the offer been sent to UK for approval upon completion I will share you the LOI then I will connect you to the HR head for salary breakdown and other details. I'm not being able to get what is happening as no email been sent from them officially regarding the selection also he haven't asked for any current salary proof.

Salary Expectations

I am currently drawing a salary of 3.75 LPA. Apart from this, my company provides me a shared accommodation, cleaner, vehicle for transportation and meals free of cost. Consequently, I consider my salary around 5 LPA and share the breakdown as well. Now, I got a job offer of 7-8 LPA. They agreed, but I'm in a dilemma what if they renegotiate the salary after getting a payslip where it's 3.75 LPA. My other benefits are not mentioned in payslip. Is there any chance of renegotiation after getting selected or what impression will I create? However, moving to Noida requires a lot of personal expenses. Furthermore, that's quite an expensive city. The lifestyle which I'm maintaining is 3.75 LPA in my city, I need to spend almost double of it to maintain the same lifestyle in gurgaon and Noida. As per that, I feel this compensation is justified. What's your call?? Please help me find the solutions. Please tell me this as well. How much CTC can I ask for considering the accommodation?

Hello, Currently in bit of a dilemma regarding my career. My organization was acquired in 2020-21 by a major tech company-one of the MAANGs. Over the past year, there have been several round of layoffs across different teams. While I hope for the best, there’s a possibility that further restructuring could affect me, even though it wouldn’t be performance-related. Staying with the company has significant advantages- stock options, ESPP, annual upskilling fund, meals, etc. If I’m able to continue, it would be great for my profile and career trajectory. However, switching to a new role now could also be beneficial, as it would likely come with a good salary hike. Based in Bangalore and earning a fixed salary of 17 LPA, which, with variables, ranges between 19-20.5 LPA. A salary increase would be helpful for me financially, especially in the current circumstances. Should I consider switching jobs at this point? If so, what should I expect as my fixed salary in the current market?

Need suggestions on a few fronts as this is my first big switch. 1. I've a current offer in hand which is offering me 40% hike. I want a bit higher percentage. My current company hasn't started negotiations yet but I'm positive that they'd do it. Hello, Yesterday my manager had retention discussion with me. He said he will try his best to make a strong case for me & match my offer but the highest approval he could get may be 1-2L lesser of the fixed pay I am getting offered. The rest they could cover in bonus and promise good hike next year to cover the gap. What should I do?
