Offer Accepted
I was getting 15.2 LPA in my previous org and now i am being offered 29.5 LPA but the designation is 1 position lower than what i was in my previous org. Should i go ahead with the offer or still negotiate on designation.
Protip : i was laid off in my previous org.

If the new role aligns with your career goals and the pay jump is significant, it might be worth accepting. You can always negotiate for a promotion later.

An Assistant Manager
Given that you were laid off, securing a high-paying job quickly is already a great move. Performance in this role could get you the title you deserve in the near future.

If the role responsibilities match your experience and the downgrade is only in title, accept it. Performance will speak louder than designation in the long run.

Accept the offer considering you are laid off from your current job and you have only this offer in hand. One position lower shouldn’t harm you much right now. You can always make up for it.

I'm also in the same situation. I have received an offer from a product based but they are offering me a lower position than the current one. However, the pay is good (30-40% hike). I'm confused if I should take this or not.

Designations vary from company to company. If your new company is larger than your previous one, there is no harm in pursuing the new opportunity, especially since you've mentioned that it aligns with your goals. Who knows, based on your performance, they might off... see more
