Tax Terrorism in India!

In India , on an income of 1cr - A corporate employee will pay 35L tax. - The corporate organization will pay 5L tax by showing various deduction & low rates. -A farmer will pay zero tax officially. -A street vendor will pay zero tax. -A shopkeeper will pay zero tax by showing salaries to family & expenses. -Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will pay 0 TAX. Such is the state of taxation in our country .It is fair to say that salaried class is being badly abused by the govt. #copiedpost but it feels so bad to be a corporate employee after seeing such posts!

Where do we middle class corporate people go?

- Ola/Uber: Charges ₹300 for a 5 km ride. Saying, "Empathize with our drivers, they work very hard in extreme weather conditions" - Swiggy/Zomato : Charges ₹50 as a platform fee and ₹50 as delivery fee on a ₹250 order. Saying, "Empathize with our riders, they work day and night to provide us food on time" - Government: Charges ₹110 per litre for petrol. Saying, "The economy isn’t doing well, we cannot do anything in this" - Companies: Provides no salary hikes/apprasial. Saying, "We are going through a tough phase, be grateful that we didn't lay you off" Meanwhile, us the middle class corporate workers, Leave our hometowns, family and comfort to come live in these polluted cities, pay hefty rents, work overtime, and sacrifice our mental health just so that we could be a good son/daughter for our family and do good in our careers! Where's the justice?

Word of caution! When you are seeking jobs, Naukri may be a good platform but DO NOT fall for their Naukri FastForward service scam. You truly get no benefit from it - truth be told, if your profile is good and updated on a regular basis, you will get calls. This FastForward/Premium service that they scam you into buying provides no benefit. They say you will be a 'priority applicant' but you are just a regular applicant. And most companies they send you jobs from are not big companies (which is okay, depends on what you are looking for). Just have a regular, up-to-date Naukri profile and spend time looking for jobs everyday. All the best in your job search!

What's the best thing you did after leaving a toxic workplace?

During peak Covid, I took a part time job since I was out of work. It was fully remote of course but it turned out to be horrible. I worked for more than 12 hours a day and I didn't even have a day off. It wasn't a part time job, it was a full time role with a part time pay. It was toxic. My manager was toxic and the clients were unruly at times (unsurprisingly). After 3 months, I resigned. And the following week post my last day, I just ate, slept and read a fantasy novel from one my of favourite authors. It was one of the best weeks I've ever had.
