Day to Day Office

It’s friday I should be thinking about weekend plans or a movie. But instead, I’m staring at the thought of quitting my job… with zero backup.

And the guilt hits me hard: I should be gratefu .I have a “decent” job. So if you’re here to remind me of that, trust me, I’ve already told myself the same thing.

But here’s the thing, m tired. Like  emotionally drained, don’t even feel like a person some days kind of tired. I've been in hr for a while from being a one-person army in small companies to part of 7 member teams in bigger orgs. But no matter the size, hr is always expected to do everything hiring, firing, compliance, employee relations, engagement, payroll... even being the therapist, the cheerleader, and the punching bag.

And I try I really do. I care about this work and wanted to be part of the change. But most days, I don’t feel like a change maker. I just feel stuck. This isn’t what I imagined when I chose this career.

Is HR becoming the worst job?

So… here’s something I never imagined I’d be typing.

I’m in an arranged marriage, not bad, not toxic, just… okay. 
We get along, do the basics, and go through life. 

But then something happened that no one could’ve predicted.

After our wedding, my husband’s younger brother joined the same company I work for.

At first, it was harmless. We commuted together, grabbed lunch, shared laughs, and Sometimes even ended up sitting next to each other during long office meetings. It was all in good spirits. 

Until it wasn’t.
I started feeling something I shouldn’t.
I think I'm attracted to him. Maybe I made the wrong choice. 

Everyone at work even says we should've met and married each other. I kinda feel the same, and I think he's also attracted to me, but we've never said anything. 
Now I’m stuck in a loop.
Should I divorce my husband, confess my feelings, and marry his brother? Or Stay like this?
I'm so confused!

You won't believe my senior has a good corporate job with over 10 years of experience.  
But suddenly resigned just a few days after his wedding.
We all thought maybe he got married and wants to spend his time with his wife, and decided to go to his place to give him a proper farewell. 

All of us got shocked after knowing that he left because his father-in-law gifted him a fat cash amount and a car in the name of "blessings."

Career Growth

There wasn’t much scope to learn in my role. No internal training, no mentorship, just daily tasks on repeat.

So I quietly started blocking an hour as “client call” and used that time to study Python.

Did that consistently for a few months.

Recently gave an interview at a fintech company, cleared it.

Honestly, I don’t regret using that time. If your current job doesn’t challenge or grow you, sometimes you have to carve out learning time on your own.

Not ideal, but it worked for me.

I used office hours to upskill.

This morning, I walked into the office as usual, nothing extraordinary.
Then suddenly I heard ..................
"This task has been pending for weeks. When I say PRIORITY, I mean PRIORITY!"
 I turn around, the CEO giving a reality check to my manager.

And in that moment... a cold breeze passed. A different level of relaxation.
Somewhere deep inside, a voice whispered: “See... karma is a b*t*ch.”
The sukoon I felt? Haven’t felt it in years.

First time after my joining...I was happy, and the manager was sulky.

And me? Mentally prepping: “Shaam ko daaru khulegi is jashn mein.”
