EY- Offer Negotiation

Hi all, I recently cleared two technical interviews with EY for a pentesting role and was asked to fill out the CIS form by HR. Later, I received a call where they offered me 10.5 LPA CTC + 5% variable for the position of Security Analyst L3. Here’s my background: YOE: 2.5 years in cybersecurity Certifications: OSCP, CRTO, CRTE, CEH, eCPPTv2 I mentioned that the offer seemed on the lower side, especially given my certifications and expertise, but the HR said they couldn’t increase it further and even mentioned they might drop my candidacy if I pushed for more. I’d like your advice: How much should I reasonably ask for given my profile? Should I negotiate further or accept the offer? Is this offer aligned with the market standards for a pentesting role?

You could aim for a package around 12-13 LPA As far as negotiation is concerned that really depends on your priority If it is stability and immediate employment, accepting the offer might be a good choice.

You may ask for joining bonus or something to compensate.

Ask if you can get a better offer from EY if not accept and then go for more interviews saying you've an offer from EY and ask better pay...maybe similar sized companies and once you have a good offer in hand tell EY same thing and get same pay if you wanna join EY...

10.5 LPA seems a bit low considering your certifications and experience. But, if HR is firm, it might be worth considering the opportunity for growth at EY. Have you looked at salary trends in pentesting roles at similar firms?

From what I’ve seen, the pay could be a bit higher for your experience level, especially with certifications like OSCP and CRTO. If you feel undervalued, it’s worth negotiating, but be prepared to make a tough decision.

Have you checked other companies offering pentesting roles? Sometimes it’s about the team and projects you’ll be working on. Would you be happy with their work culture if you don’t negotiate more?
