Is Job hopping really bad? I don't think so!

I once interviewed a candidate who had switched 3 jobs all within a span of 1-2 years. My colleague suggested me not to hire him as frequent switches show instability. However, I was confident about the candidate and went on with hiring him. Yesterday he completed 3rd year anniversary with my team. It's 2024, job-hopping often says more about the companies than the employee. People rarely leave when they're treated well, paid fairly, given room to grow, and part of a positive #WorkCulture. But if you provide a toxic workplace, then how can you expect employees to stay with you!

Alternate documents for Employee verification?

My new employer asked for my previous offer letters and salary slips. When I inquired, they said it was for background verification. However, I feel that providing these documents might affect salary negotiations, and it feels a bit unethical too. What alternative documents can I provide for employment verification?

Is the Job Market Really This Tough?

Got laid off 3 weeks ago and have been grinding through interviews since. I’ve already faced 9 companies, most of which threw curveball questions or outdated tech ones. I did manage to clear the first round at two MNCs, but the HRs are playing the waiting game. Not sure if they're ghosting me or what. YOE- 6 Tech- Mainframe Hi All, I appeared for an interview for the role of Application developer at Accenture. I've already gone through 4 rounds of interviews. 2 technical (R2,R2) and 2 final (R1,R2) Right after I gave my 4th interview (which went very well), the application was removed from Workday portal and it was replaced by another same application, and I got a mail to schedule R1 of Technical interview. I have no idea what is going on, and I'd really appreciate it if someone can shed some light into this.

And do they really get back to you or respond if select/reject you? Some companies are well known for their toxic culture Everybody knows it. Management, employees as well as outsiders. I resigned from one such company three years back without having any offer due to burnout or mental breakdown. But when I started to apply for other jobs, I was grilled on questions like, Were you fired? If not then, Why did you resign without an offer? Why are you leaving within 5 months? Recruiters knew all about the negative culture of the company but still kept grilling me with such questions. It wasn't really needed. Recruiters should learn to let it go and focus on the skills and compatibility of the candidate!

Bad Interview experience

Around 10 days ago, I was shortlisted for a Senior Talent Acquisition position. The interview process started smoothly with a virtual interview being scheduled on short notice. Both rounds went well, and the feedback was positive. I was even told that I could expect an offer soon. However, after submitting my documents, I was asked for my relieving letter and last 3 months' payslips. I explained from the beginning that, due to financial issues at my current organization, I had not received my salary for the past 2-3 months. This was communicated during my interviews, and I provided all other required documents including my relieving letter. Despite this, the offer was ultimately withdrawn due to the lack of recent payslips, which had already been discussed earlier in the process. This situation has left me reflecting on the importance of transparent communication during the hiring process, both from the candidate's and employer's side.

See it’s all about the ranking! A Good job opening gets around 1000+ applications. Do you think all 1000 people will get any Interview calls? No, Not even 100 will get the HR call, only 50-60 will get the Interview invite, and 10-15 will be sent to the next rounds. Only those top resumes reach the decision makers. So, How to get in the top 5-10% is all you want to know and everything else is just NOICE! Follow this simple rule- Do a deep dive into your profile (Experience + JD) and find -Tech skills/Tools required to do your job: Excel, tally, SQL, PowerBI, Photoshop, Illustrator etc. -Core skills required to do your job: Subject matter skills -Functional skills required to do your job: Softskills Add those to your resume and try to repeat the keywords through your experience and that’s it. That's the only and best practical tip you can use to enhance your resumes!

Will you pass the "Airport Test" in your next interview?

During college placements, a senior once told me about this test. Which basically says that, If you and your interviewer are stuck on an airport due to a delayed/cancelled flight, can the interviewer bear you during this wait? - Do you have enough communication skills to keep up with them or will end up having awkward silence among you? - Do you have interests beyond work which you could talk about? The belief was that the interviewer will hire you if you pass the Airport test. Think from this perspective before your next interview and I am sure you will do good!

How to Land a Job After a Rough 20s?

Okay, so here's the deal: I was a total mess in my 20s. Depression hit me hard, and let's just say, I wasn't exactly career-focused. Now, I'm trying to get back on track, but it's like everyone expects me to have a decade of experience by age 31. Interview experience with foreign guys

I had an interview yesterday with two Belgian guys and it felt really good. Unlike Indian interviewers who always like to show you who the boss is by asking really hard questions and grilling you, they were really chill and asking me about my projects and their architecture. We even talked about random things, I felt like wanting to have a beer with them after the interview. My point is interviewing style in India has to change, we need to check if he would be able to fit in the company instead of looking for leetcode monkeys.
