Hi, I'm here to share a part of my journey from the past 12 years in my career, I started from a package of 3.6LPA in 2013 at iGate and due to a few bad decisions on my career and worthless advices from people who are always pessimistic about the industry, I switched two companies and landed in a start-up with 2.4LPA. I worked hard nearly 8-16hrs a day single handed researched, built and managed an entire vertical of a project for 8 years. When the company didn't value my contribution and thought I was too young to become a manager, I had a package of 6LPA and Senior developer in designation. I switched for obvious reasons to a TL role for 12LPA and now at the same company I'm a TPM on the basis of my contribution with 48LPA as a fixed component. I feel outclassed in terms of having a fancy CV with certifications, I feel like CTC has hit a peak with 48LPA being fixed and nearly 40% in Variable. Most companies are hesitant to hire me because of this. What should be my next move?

I accepted an offer where they gave me around 120% hike on current salary, but 2 weeks later I got to know that there are paying other candidates more than me for the same role with even less experience. Hello, Current offer from CG - Total 21.5L, fixed as 19.4 and rest bonus Retention offer from Deloitte - Total 19.1, fixed as 15.5 and rest bonus (4L) I understand the offer is less but my manager explained that Deloitte's hikes are better in the market and on an average, I can get 15% every year with good performance. The same hikes in CG are around 5-6% so financially, my salary growth will definitely be more in Deloitte. Please give me suggestions. I have good management and projects in Deloitte with WLB but I would like to have some perspective on offered CTC too

I’m in a situation and need some guidance. I have a job offer with: CTC: 9.4 LPA fixed + 21% variable = 11.4 LPA total. Location: Chennai (not ideal for me). Another opportunity is in the pipeline, with a more suitable location, but the expected CTC is around 9.4 LPA, which is significantly lower than the first offer. To add to the dilemma, the HR of the second company feels that asking for 12 LPA (considering my 9.4 LPA fixed offer) is too high. How would you approach this decision? Later, I received a call where they offered me 10.5 LPA CTC + 5% variable for the position of Security Analyst L3. Here’s my background: YOE: 2.5 years in cybersecurity Certifications: OSCP, CRTO, CRTE, CEH, eCPPTv2 I mentioned that the offer seemed on the lower side, especially given my certifications and expertise, but the HR said they couldn’t increase it further and even mentioned they might drop my candidacy if I pushed for more. Hello, Currently in bit of a dilemma regarding my career. My organization was acquired in 2020-21 by a major tech company-one of the MAANGs. Over the past year, there have been several round of layoffs across different teams. While I hope for the best, there’s a possibility that further restructuring could affect me, even though it wouldn’t be performance-related. Staying with the company has significant advantages- stock options, ESPP, annual upskilling fund, meals, etc. If I’m able to continue, it would be great for my profile and career trajectory. However, switching to a new role now could also be beneficial, as it would likely come with a good salary hike. Based in Bangalore and earning a fixed salary of 17 LPA, which, with variables, ranges between 19-20.5 LPA. A salary increase would be helpful for me financially, especially in the current circumstances. Should I consider switching jobs at this point? I am working currently as a team lead for hcl and since idiotically I didn't switch any companies from start 2019 till now, I have a measly ctc of 4.3 lpa. I got an offer accepting 8lpa , but they are demanding to join in 15 days. And hcltech, being the company it is, is having 90 days notice period, negotiable to 60 days only. Initial negotiation with my current manager and the new company hr didn't go over that well, I am in a bind now. Any suggestions?

Hello, Yesterday my manager had retention discussion with me. He said he will try his best to make a strong case for me & match my offer but the highest approval he could get may be 1-2L lesser of the fixed pay I am getting offered. The rest they could cover in bonus and promise good hike next year to cover the gap. What should I do? Email communication for Retention?

I received a retention offer from my company and I was expecting to receive an email communication about the revised CTC approval/confirmation. My manager and I also had a prior discussion in Nov about this. Though the offer is approved, I am yet to receive a formal email. I did follow up with my manager about the same and he suggested to go ahead and inform the other company HR about my offer withdrawal. But he has not sent the email confirmation yet. What should I do? It will be a delay to inform other HR, but I will feel more comfortable and aligned with an email communication, which was anyway discussed before. Feeling stressed.
