Depends on the client you get to work for. I got to work for a small client and it was terrible experience. As if you are working for a startup but the pay is less.

I recently experienced a situation that has prompted me to reflect upon the importance of fair treatment and adherence to agreed-upon terms in the workplace. Despite delivering exceptional work and receiving positive feedback from both colleagues and clients, my salary was unexpectedly deducted based on purported performance concerns. To my surprise, there was no prior communication or agreement regarding such deductions. In the face of these circumstances, it is essential to stand up against unethical practices and advocate for fairness and transparency. Every employee deserves to be treated with respect, and any changes to the terms of employment should be communicated and mutually agreed upon. Open dialogue and a commitment to fairness are key to nurturing a healthy work environment where everyone can thrive. Job security at HCL is generally stable. Work-life balance, however, largely depends on the project, client, and manager.

HCL offers stable job security; however, career growth opportunities, including promotions, rewards, and salary increments, are limited. Working harder or more dedicatedly often results in being assigned additional responsibilities rather than receiving recognition through salary increases or promotions.

Worst Manager, worst management. Lot of micromanagement. There is Nippon app which will track you for every single minutes and if you are idle for 2 minutes, it will not consider your efforts. Minimum 8 hrs is mandatory. If you have any other offer please do consider that.

Negligible appraisal. No promotions . There is no standard of giving salary. Junior employee in same team with lower band could have higher salary than senior with upper band. They do not give any goodies on Diwali/new year. They do not give any money on referrals. Just the extra miles points.

In HCL salary breakup is a biggest scam. Because if you are joining company with 15 LPA, your take home will be around 95K. Remaining 30k is not assured to return to you. So please dont join HCL if your family is fully depends only on your salary.

Now company has started working on new technologies and trying to make a product out of it, I am part of that team. So work satisfaction is there, along with no mandatory WFO ( it mostly depends on your project and manager).

Appraisals will be very less even if you are top performer. There are a lot of process involved to get certain approvals. No proper communication on hike cycle this time

Most of the projects are client location based. Managers do not support their employees for anything.even if client harasses them they keep quiet and else make the employee to adjust. Managers have made work culture toxic. I worked for PepsiCo and the managers in hcl were not at all supportive to their employees.
