For skill development we get a lot of opportunities, like certifications and all. Even if you are working in some other project with some different tech stack, you can still apply for other tech cretificates. Also they provide platforms like udemy, linkdin etc to enhance your skills. Also you got job security working in tcs.

Process of promotions are not that transparent or bias. You only get first two anniversary and finincial upraisals with very less percentage hike. And for promotion you will have to wait till 3 years and that process is also not transparent. Your managera will say that they have raised your promotion in sysstem but you will not be able to see the process and then it will take 1 or 2 years more in promotion....Read More

No skill development, Manager's are literally not working. As everyone knows that TCS doesn't fire employee, senior management takes advantage of this and just work for status meetings. There is no reward for talented folks, not getting enough salary and there is no meaning of appraisal process.

The days passed by 9th year completing still feels like yesterday.

Dislikes

Manager doesn't use your expertise, instead they ask to keep on learning new task every month, to form an backup. Dozens of dislike, no promotion, when we talk they ignores and when we stop working then they say appraisal will get bad, hence no promotion. Very poor managing company, it's for retirement old people company as newly candidates have no future.

Job security would be one of the top reasons of joining TCS. Work life balance is also good compared to the market.

Dislikes

Salary and promotion process being one of the worst metrics on being a part of the TCS family. If you would like to join TCS, consider it in a phase where you would settle down here with a good package as retirement plan, don't join it early in your career because progressing here will make you old.

There is no growth, no promotion even if you hard and smart. Nobody is going to value your work . At the Time od apprisal they will literally give you example like you come late office 15 min and this 15 min can be a 1500 min in 100 days lol😂. I say never ever join tcs

Beaurocratic Management. They impose things on you. Ratings and bands are not related. A person with less IPF can get better Band compared to one who has higher IPF Promotions is a big challenge. You will sped 8 years or more if you are in mid senior level (asoc) Salary component includes variables but you will get 20-35% of it onlyIncrements (2-3%) will be only on paper. Your salary will never increase in hand. If you are getting 1L increment then be rest assured that 40 k will be on fixed and 60k on qva which you will never get in full.
