In TCS you have flexibility....you can choose projects, reject projects, learn lot of things through various learning platforms. Though during project, sometimes managing learning is an uphill task. Low salaries for long timers is a big drawback. It boasts of being agile but does not use agile for running its own day to day operations. Resourcing is in a big time mess, people working on project have to invest a lot of time in resourcing, there's no dedicated team within the projects ( even projects as large as with 300 people). Quarterly bonus is almost certain to be zero at 12+ yr experience levels. Old school mentality still exists in TCS, where wearing Jeans is a crime on weekdays. Good work culture ( if one does not want to work ). One can spend complete career without working. One can deny work by telling lack of bandwidth or lack of experience. TCS has tie up with most training platforms so one learn a lot. If you have good relation with seniors then chances are there for onsite oppurtunity.

No appreciation for project work completion and hardly any promotion or salary hike. Every project manager amd partner will give a ladoo of onsite oppurtunity to everyone in the project to motivate as they are helpless due to low pay and low yearly appreciation of associates. TCS is mostly concentrated on AMS and BAU projects so chances are less to get a role in consulting or implementation project. ( its mostly like tata customer service) No mapping of career aspiration, skillset or education qualification. Senior are mostly concerned about incoming revenue and will tag to any project as long as revenue from client is coming. I really like the work culture and support from manager. And they gives us more time to enhance new technology. I have to say one word it's one of the best platform to work-life balance and job security. If they are provide me 50% hike I never ever left the TCS because as per my experience I received very low package and everytime I was felt underpaid.

Job security is good. Even if you perform bad, at max you will be removed from project and placed in a different project

They are into coolie employment. When someone leaves the team, they will not find a replacement. The work will be shared with remaining people and then it will be shown to higher management that the project can run with less people. Keep unrealistic deadlines. All incompetent higher management are collected here. They literally treat employees as low level people who should listen to whatever they say. They dangle the dreams of high hike and then in the end say company gave less we can't do anything. All managers have only 1 skill, shout at employees in all calls in front of everyone and get the work done. I suggest no one should join the organisation. I joined initially thinking Ratan Tata values will be followed, but dint even give holiday when he died. Do not join here. Low salary, worst work life balance, worst managers.
