Confused about Salary negotiations

CTC - 8 LPA Loc - Bengaluru, India I have been working in the same company for the last 5 years. My salary went from 3.6 LPA to 8 LPA over the years. I recently put papers, and, started giving interviews. I got an offer from TCS for 15 LPA(12.8 fixed). For more than a month, I've been giving interviews, asking for 18 LPA and many HRs are rejecting straight away, citing it is more than 100% hike from my current CTC. I kept trying and now I am selected for 5 companies - Iris Software, Capgemini, Quantzig Analytics, PwC, HCL, Infinite. Salary discussions are about to start and I'm confused. I'm not good at this. Can anyone suggest? Edit: Update: 3 weeks before my LWD, I stopped applying and attending interviews. Now, I hold a 22LPA fixed offer with a product company. I’m more than satisfied from where I’ve began. Among other things, this community has motivated me to go on. Some might say, I could get better package, but, right now, I feel the mental toll isn’t worth it. I’m grateful.🙏

Don’t undercut yourself just because of the 100% hike narrative. Show HRs the value of your experience and upskilling over these 5 years it’s about the role and market value, not your past salary.

Bhai, TCS offering 15L after 8L? What’s stopping you from enjoying that and getting into full negotiation mode with the others? just leverage your offers against one another

Did TCS leave room for negotiations on their offer, or are you treating it as your baseline?

@flyingchappal No. That's the final quote of TCS.

When discussing salary, avoid anchoring around your current CTC. Highlight how your skillset has grown and your contributions justify the new range you're asking for. make them understand that your previous salary wasnt factoring in you current qualifications

Tell them you already have an offer from TCS for 15 LPA and they'll have to do better. Use the next one to negotiate further and so on.

I trained my manager and now she no longer needs me.
I’ve been working at a small startup for the past 3 years, with just 3 other employees and my boss. I sit right in front of her, and over time, we became close, almost like siblings. I automated a lot of my tasks, so my ... read more
