Stability is something you will like. If your project is done, you really do not need to worry about going to bench or losing jobs. Then, lot of learning programs and opportunities.

The days passed by 9th year completing still feels like yesterday.

Dislikes

Manager doesn't use your expertise, instead they ask to keep on learning new task every month, to form an backup. Dozens of dislike, no promotion, when we talk they ignores and when we stop working then they say appraisal will get bad, hence no promotion. Very poor managing company, it's for retirement old people company as newly candidates have no future.

Lately it has gone bad to worse in terms deducting associate's salaries for not going to office that too without giving them a seat or soft warning before deducting the money. Associates are losing thousands of money from their salary every month in the name of quarterly results or associates not working from office. I feel joining TCS at early stages will translate into delayed career growth which will result in lesser monetary value in overall growth....Read More

The people who are higher hierarchical level than you are treats you like you are some kind of slave they are going to take advantage of the vulnerabilities you have to exploit you just because they have some power overall worst company to start your career.

Human Resource is a big pain. You can not get a convincing reply. They always sound like chatbot and hopefully will be the very first to be replaced by AI. Offshore people are all lazy and procrastinate. There is nobody to look upto for inspiration. There is no motivation to grow or to achive anything professionally. People here are always busy working, but still accomplish nothing.

Onsite opportunities, during my 6 year tenure at TCS 5 years I was at onsite, though it is a pure luck. Medical insurance was better but now they started diluting. My colleagues were helpful but again it depends on luck.

Dislikes

As a mechanical engineer it is not an ideal place for beginners, you will be working on simple tasks that doesn’t need any engineering or technical skills. Better look for opportunities at OEMs or tier1s at the early stage and choose TCS for a settled life.
