Once you completed your project, and if you are on bench if you’re not able to get another project within 35 days, 35 calendar days, not even working days, then you have to resign to your job and you’ll get mails show cause notices from HR after 35 days. That’s the situation in Cogniznt.

I don’t see any positives here. I have worked at different companies, and the work culture in this one is not as good compared to others. There is no value for employees. I think many people have been working here for long years, but most senior employees, especially project managers, don’t have knowledge of the current project domains. Good when joining as a fresher as there's a lot to learn and we have time to.

Dislikes

Regional discrimination, favouring the people from Tamil and no respect to the other regions. Even the deserving appreciation is never recieved.

I was forced to work on weekends as well. Got a frustrated onsite lead who once got high and abused my mother on an early morning call. It was notified to the management, they first played politics in making be believe that he will be replaced and will be fired from the company. Job is secure, the work life balance as they are only asking to join office for 2 days as of now, also depends upon projects

No Appraisal/Appreciations/Salary hike is also very low, Even you have given them more then 100% of of efforts with full results and appreciation from client are there but managers and Hr's won't budge while asking for better Appraisal or Ratings

Cognizant is suitable for only experienced persons as in every project they will provide priority to experienced persons rather than less experienced. They didn't evaluate you even if you are sound in your technology

The management is never in the favour of its employees. You will not get any benefits apart from the extra work that you have to do everyday. The appraisal is very less and on some years they delay it. I got a rating of 5/5 and my delayed appraisal for this year was 8% They will never release you from the project even if you're unhappy in it. You'll be forced to resign in the situation.
