No job security, suddenly one day you will know that now your not part of your project. Salary and other benefits are very less as compared to other it company.

If you swith to Cognizant, they will provide good salary compared to other service based company. They also push their associate for skill development with regular certification drive.

Dislikes

The appraisal system dropped drastically in couple of years. Very minimum salary hike with high ratings.

Likes

There's lots of opportunities to grow and get skilled in latest technologies. Certification opportunities and widely available. Work Life balance vary from project to project.

Dislikes

Even though the fixed components are higher than many companies, it's quite less compared to many leading it giants. The yearly increment is very less and it's zero to none for freshers. Appraisal of 5 star rating is almost never given even after going above and beyond expectations. You'll be compensated with bare minimum cheer points.

I was working in a project which is called Data Entry. Where I learn only thing that is Target, manager and all senior management peoples are mentally sick to work. There are dont know how to talk with other employee and biasness are common also office politics are taken the good position. After one promotion they will treat you like a mad dog. It may vary project to project and management to management. My previous project experience is very bad due to the management only. My current project , client and management is quite good.

There is no skip level meeting happens and I found HRs are already teamed up with the management.

This probably depends on the project but yes my team is amazing here. Always very supportive and helpful. Even though there are unwanted situations and stuff, but yeah overall it’s good.

Appraisal and increment is joke now a days Projects are ok and not much complex kind of work No clear transparency on the promotion process. Stability is good. Though in the ongoing global recession, many of my co-workers had to leave projects because of project ramp down and did not get any other projects. Instead of recruiting employees from bench in other projects they are hiring more from people outside.

Dislikes

Appraisal is bad. So joining with low salary does not help much in the long run, better to switch.
