Stability is good. Though in the ongoing global recession, many of my co-workers had to leave projects because of project ramp down and did not get any other projects. Instead of recruiting employees from bench in other projects they are hiring more from people outside.

Dislikes

Appraisal is bad. So joining with low salary does not help much in the long run, better to switch.

Work timings are pathetic. You work at your regular timings and still have to login later for client calls. In my case mostly extending till midnight. The hybrid culture here is totally unproductive. Upper management is worse, expects you to be available anytime for calls.

Good I like that there are good projects available. If you get that great you will get experience and knowledge.

1. Salary and hikes are low. 2. Poor employee welfare activities, once a year they take you out for team lunch. If you missed then nothing, no gifts, abs nothing, saving so much money but gives back nothing.

While in working with Cognizant you have to forget your work life balance because you will be forced to worked more than 10 11 hours daily and If you don't, threat of laying off will be given to you through your TL and managers

So far, i do not see any good experiences in terms of ratings, feedback, employee friendly, personal/family related concerns. Just getting pathetic treatment from all sides due to north indian culture and having personal concerns of location preference as bangalore. Not feeling good due to consistently forced to change project and degrade ratings. Always denied for preferred location project even after 6 years of work experiences within cognizant. Did not get full exposure and work experience of the study in the project since I am not working as per their location preferrence. HCM managers are only utilising me for their work completion but never support about the personal concern. Mostly tamil managers are sucking the career of North Indian resource and never support since I have location constraints and requested to work from bangalore location. Tamil managers always wanted me to not to work from bangalore location unnecessarily which is very unfair. Not getting proper response and very badly treated by hcm managers or lead within project. This company just looking outside fine but inside it there is hell amount of unfair practices within projects in life science domain. Too many things to dislike. Zero transperancy in their hiring. Nodal point transport which can be anywhere from 2-5 km radius. 10 hrs shifts and with cab travel, it's 14 hrs shift. Rapid hire and fire company. You get no compensation and have 30 days to find a new job.

It's MNC so work load is not much and you get nice architecture office and locality

Dislikes

They lay off when they don't have projects. They are over hired and less projects left with them.. you won't feel the pain but they will somehow kick you out if they don't need you... they might give you salary for 2 or 3 months to keep the mouth shut but they will lay off you silently

Few members of the global large deals team are worse. Priya raghav and Ashwini rathore doesn't know how to talk to people. Ashwini even talked about my family very rudely. I would suggest don't join cognizant. Even if you join, don't join the global large deals team. Your life will be miserable.
