Predatory practices by Swiggy to mislead customers

I was ordering on Swiggy and I noticed the app added a tip by itself. I unchecked the 'Add this tip automatically to future orders' box and cleared my cart to see if it gets added again, and what do I see? I see the tip had been added again! I closed the app and tried to add to cart from a different restaurant and same story was repeated. My issue is not tips here but the sneaky way Swiggy tried to add a tip on it's own without my consent and every time I built my cart again, it added a tip automatically even though the add tip to future orders box was left unchecked. If one is not vigilant, one may end up paying a tip on their orders. Also, the uncheck box is not visible directly, one has to tap on price breakdown to see a tip has been added without their consent, click on Tip and unselect the tip and uncheck the box. This is really pathetic!🤦‍♂️

I had two terrible experiences with Swiggy on October 9th and 10th. Both times, my orders were delayed or incomplete. The delivery agents were unresponsive and Swiggy's customer support offered only refunds. This highlights a serious issue with Swiggy's delivery services. I urge the company to take action to improve its quality and reliability. Has anyone else had similar experiences with Swiggy?

Ultimate Zomato Hack!

You might have seen many a times that Swiggy and Zomato will never let you connect with a customer support agent or simply deny you a refund if your order is spilled, incorrect, has missing items or stuck in a different space-time dimension where the driver has been reaching you in 20 mins for the last 1 hour. Simple hack: Always choose cash on delivery. It will prioritize your order above gold customers, if you tell their chatbot that you won’t pay if the order is delayed beyond a point they will immediately connect you to a human AND if your order has missing/wrong items - you can simply refuse to pay. The user experience remains exactly the same - once the order is delivered you can pay via any UPI app or wallet or saved card through the app but you never again have to worry about being Zomato’s starving hostage. Wait! To be clear - I’m not suggesting to using this to deny payment of legitimate delivery orders. This is just mean to get “premium experience” with no extra cost.

Is Swiggy Losing Its Grip in Mumbai?

I'm starting to feel like Swiggy 's service in Mumbai is taking a nosedive. Is anyone else experiencing the same? Two of my orders were delayed by over three hours this week alone. It's frustrating! And don't even get me started on the outdated menus and missing items. It feels like restaurants aren't even bothering to update their status on the app. What's even more disappointing is the customer support. When I reached out, the only solution they offered was to cancel the order. Seriously? That's not a solution, it's just giving up. Meanwhile, I placed the same order on Zomato, which was delivered on time. It's a shame to see a once-reliable service slip like this. I wonder how this pre-IPO slump and negative customer sentiment will impact Swiggy's future. It's time for them to improve their game and provide better service. Let me know if you've had similar experiences.

Simpl in Crisis? Heard that they are burning a lot in funding discounts on D2C websites they work with to retain them. BNPL is also not doing too well. IMO Simpl needs to get on Swiggy , Amazon , Flipkart , Ola Cabs Asap . A Good product and use case makes payments journey shorter will help you out in times of cash crunch month end days before salary drops . It's basically free money just take it and don't return it they can't even do anything if lots of us do it company can go bust in a day .

Is this an effect of public listening...? This is based on an analysis of 24K reviews on iPhone and Android phones between Jan to November 2023 conducted by clootrack. The results though look a lot squid as Zomato to outperforms Swiggy by three to four times in every parameter. How do you look at these results? Do you agree with this analysis?
