Salary is on time but other incentives, your promotion, your bonus, your increments etc are in Arrears, You will get it for sure but always in arrears, HR is not at all effective. Just like your Job which is stable, your salary will be stable as well, please do not expect any other thing except Stability. Company culture in terms ofHR is not at all good, no major governance towards how management is calibrating an employee, how promotions are happening? That is the only reason I left HCLTech, otherwise, in other domains, might be the HR as people doing good things. HCLTech is a beautiful organization but some wrong people who are in that position to spoil the overall experience and culture, My advice is to hire good mature people in leadership positions and especially in HR domain. Recruiter promised that I will be receiving the entire variable pay for the first year but I received only for a month and from second month I have not even received 50 percent. No hike/night shift allowance for E3 and above bands . Every project have 3 managers (reporting manager, service managers, who will be part of HCL for 10 or 15 years ) , and who used to micromanage to an extreme, they will ask you to work on company holiday and they won’t approve your comp off or Pay for the holiday. It has various projects, so you don't have to worry about it. If you are keep updating yourself with your skills set. You'll always get the work.
Hike and appraisal, it never happened on time and didn't get updates about the delay, sometime it delayed for 9 months also and got hike very less like 1-3% even if you are top performer. It's all clients centric, so no one will be there to defend or protect you if client doesn't like for any reason. Managers are just puppet of client and higher management. Training and course will be pushed to you and no one will consider that if you are completely occupied in your work . It comes in ad-hoc based and you have to complete it in time by doing it in night and in weekend sometime. Management will push you for new idea and lead generation and despite considering the nature of project it is considered as a mandatory activity to do otherwise your appraisal will get impacted. It has 10-15% variable which hardly 1% people are getting in full. A complete mess. The sort of experience I had along with some of my colleagues who joined on the same date was appalling. What I found out that the communication from HCLtech's end is disastrous on so many levels. Now I am not sure if it's the project which we were going to get tagged or not, but the experience was not good. Have you ever heard of an employee going to bench after joining a new company. No communication whatsoever was provided what was the reason behind it, then after 2 weeks, we were invited to train and get tagged to a new project for a different role, we were trained for 1 month on and off and after that again no communication about what is happening. After 2 months of training and anxiously waiting for the outcome, they inform I am not getting tagged because the client needs my passport and I don't have one. Never did HCLTECH ever say that Passport was mandatory. Post that I had to apply for a passport to avoid another scenario as such. Appalling experience....Read More
