Highly political and toxic work environment with biased bosses. No proper escalation channels for HR people - even I am in the HR, still we don’t have anywhere to go ! No work life balance. No salary hikes or fair appraisals despite hard work. Rude and very disrespectful colleagues and managers. Office politics at its peak ! No career growth or recognition. Employee well being is not a priority.

Overall work culture is good in HCL but i feel if you are under management role there is alot of politics, drama and bad experiences that you will face. I have been here for 2 years and it’s nothing what i though it would be. Additionally, the appraisal letters are released after 1.5 years for any employee here which is not fair at all

Favouritism. Unskilled people deployed in HR, who are from BA, ops. And QA backgrounds. They don't even know the true meaning of HR. Just being favourites of the boss they would enjoy all benefits and neither themselves nor the boss would do any work. Too much toxic of a culture. Work Culture here is good. People are friendly and suppportive, leaving few exceptions. Working hours are flexible. Hybrid working system is employee friendly.
Salary and benefits and promotion is far below the market rates. They give equal percentage to everyone irrespective of their work. Work recognition is not up to the mark. Permanent work from office may start soon.

They are not really harsh on you. You get your comfort and PIP isnt very common, for good performers they have regular company policy based appraisals and for weak performers they have IJPs. HCL can be said a family. Its not a high paying place but a lot of security and medical benefits is there.
No chance of upskilling within org, external courses will be required if you want to enhance your knowledge and technical skills.

hikes and promotion are given after 9-12 months from the completion of appraisal. even if you get salary hikes, they are very low and below the market standards even if you get the highest rating. and the the hike or promotion effective is from after the 6 or 9 months of appraisal completion date which is a loss for the employee.

It has various projects, so you don't have to worry about it. If you are keep updating yourself with your skills set. You'll always get the work.
Hike and appraisal, it never happened on time and didn't get updates about the delay, sometime it delayed for 9 months also and got hike very less like 1-3% even if you are top performer. It's all clients centric, so no one will be there to defend or protect you if client doesn't like for any reason. Managers are just puppet of client and higher management. Training and course will be pushed to you and no one will consider that if you are completely occupied in your work . It comes in ad-hoc based and you have to complete it in time by doing it in night and in weekend sometime. Management will push you for new idea and lead generation and despite considering the nature of project it is considered as a mandatory activity to do otherwise your appraisal will get impacted. It has 10-15% variable which hardly 1% people are getting in full.
