The plus with HCL is like if you are lucky and get a good client/project you can have a good work life balance.

Their are multiple cons in the company - 1. They will deduct money from your salary unnecessarily in the name of variable which they say is rating based. I personally never got less than 9/10 in quarterly ratings but still they used to deduct around 60% from EPB. 2. Zero hikes / No promotions. In my almost 2 year career no hikes happened. 3. hikes and promotion are given after 9-12 months from the completion of appraisal. even if you get salary hikes, they are very low and below the market standards even if you get the highest rating. and the the hike or promotion effective is from after the 6 or 9 months of appraisal completion date which is a loss for the employee.

It has various projects, so you don't have to worry about it. If you are keep updating yourself with your skills set. You'll always get the work.

Hike and appraisal, it never happened on time and didn't get updates about the delay, sometime it delayed for 9 months also and got hike very less like 1-3% even if you are top performer. It's all clients centric, so no one will be there to defend or protect you if client doesn't like for any reason. Managers are just puppet of client and higher management. Training and course will be pushed to you and no one will consider that if you are completely occupied in your work . It comes in ad-hoc based and you have to complete it in time by doing it in night and in weekend sometime. Management will push you for new idea and lead generation and despite considering the nature of project it is considered as a mandatory activity to do otherwise your appraisal will get impacted. It has 10-15% variable which hardly 1% people are getting in full. I worked in Cisco projects, there are so many disgusting managers in the Cisco LOB. They won't allow you develop your skills and professional life. you won't get a project which suits your skill set. Nothing as such.. Just they provide peanuts salary on time and have lucrative infrastructure.

Bare minimum salary hikes. No promotion. Office politics too much. No job security, once you are in bench or rollout from project, your job will be in danger. Work life balance is pathetic... If you are working in support project they can call you anytime despite your shift gets over.

It depends on project and client you are having. If your client is good your life is good else vice versa. HCLTECH has good infra and flexibility in working hours.

1st thing is increment, they follow minimum increment rule. Retention policy of HCL is worst, it's sort of trap. HRs and backend team not accessible and they are good for nothing. Policy are not employee centric. Variables are not paid in full and increment gets delayed by 6-10 months which is total waste

It logistics team provide some low grade olx laptops followed by itfo who never be able to fix laptop issues they just do some basic troubleshooting and give the laptop back to employees there is another one connect team who closes tickets immidiatly after raising it, it’s a chain of activities that needs to be done even after that they don’t replace your laptop.
