Work life balance is generally good but sometimes people have to wait for extended hours

Everything. First of all everyone doesn't fall into the backward categories. Some people's parents took loans to make their children achieve the degrees. So these children turned adults especially those who fall in general category will require good salaries to repay their family loans and to save for their future, especially their kids. Employees should get good salaries by considering their relevant qualifications, attempts of passing examinations, their marks and relevant experience. You can't simply compare a B.Sc. guy to a well behaved/educated B.E./B.tech candidate. In my case I being a B.E. candidate was forced to follow everything what this bad mouth B.Sc. guy said thus neglecting my experience entirely. That guy didn't say anything bad to me particularly but I didn't feel comfortable approaching this guy for gaining the knowledge of the product as I had already seen him misbehaving with others. You can't expect yourselves to work with such guys after completing your education and working in a company. Such people should be eliminated from the workplace. I had to learn different parts of projects from different team members even though my teammate was continuously asking doubts for the entire 1-2 hrs sessions. It's the job of the speaker to tell one of the learners to ask the doubts at the end of the sessions if he is asking too much doubts in the middle of the session. If this isn't done, the session becomes boring making it worse for the learners who are already not in a mood to attend the session. Just like there are good/bad students, there are good teachers as well. The product head simply needs to get this in his mind who always tends to find mistakes in the learners. Also the requirements what they call as user stories must be written in brief so that even the newest of the employees would be keen to read them. Otherwise, if you are writing ppts in 40-50 pages in the size of newspaper text, the novices won't either read them or they would find it difficult to follow. Probably engineering degree from reputed colleges failed to make anyone better in writing ppts. So this company has failed to write user stories in an interesting and more understandable way. The most essential requirement to learn a product is one of the recent user manuals especially in a searchable pdf format. This helps the testers in a great way as they become self dependent. Some developers join the duty late making it miserable for employees (both developers and testers) who have joined on time. Employees on time in the field of competition have nothing to do with what latecomers have to do before joining the duty. They simply don't care!!. Everyone deserves a well balanced lifestyle which must include time for physical exercise and family time. If you are asking for more of your employee's time you are breaking their good habit and you have to pay more. Also the people at a higher position in hierarchy need to get the bugs fixed from developers if the testers have already logged them many days ago. Similarly it's the responsibility of the people higher in hierarchy to make testers check for bugs in new release. If testers and developers keep on forcing each other to get the remaining work done, arguments are more likely to take place. Also no one has ever benefited from memorising the product because products keep on varying from companies to companies. Testers will eventually learn the product as they keep on testing. Also an important note to mention is that if the testers are made to test the same functionality/features of product in multiple environments they will lose interest. No one loves to do the same thing again and again. Product knowledge is not a part of engineering syllabus. The worst part was interview because my previous experience was not counted and the HR bargained my salary like a fish market even if I didn't demand more( according to my qualification and amount of experience). MBAs , Engineers, Doctors etc. if aren't payed well would eventually lose interest in working. I don't know why but as much as I try to avoid salary discussion with my teammates, the salary gets discussed first by some other guy giving me another reason to quit....Read More
