The transparent culture and encouragement along with empathy shown to employees is real and remarkable . You feel that your voice is heard and your view matter irrespective of you role/seniority. Also open culture is helpful to being innovative ideas and get instant support in a start up like environment.

I like the way its transforming, despite IBM legacy, its working toward creating its Branding, standardizing and reconsolidation systems & processes. Being a people manager of Japanese language speaking squad, I think if we can have some revision in banding / appraisal method in ways employee feels recognized for their hard work. Not all resources have technical aptitude (Japanese language experts) yet they are upskilling technically preforming level best too! The ease of working with the team is good

Dislikes

Salaries need to be in Par with the industry, also we have been only looking at certifications to address the skill gap in the last one year so there is no opportunity for other certifications. Promotions have not been happening in regular cycles, we have approvals from account teams for progressions however the % of promotions at each of the business units are very less and this is bringing in lot of dissatisfaction amongst top performers. The idea of Flat, Fast & Focus is not really being followed, there are still many approvals required even for the smallest requirement. We are not working as one kyndryl, each business unit has its own policies for eg - utilization targets are different, resource allocations are again based on different markets and makes it very difficult for movement between markets, the affordability ID should be completely removed to ensure we have good resource movements and opportunities....Read More

I have worked with some great managers and leaders who have always supported and let me maintain my work-life balance. I had learning opportunities instead of working on any redundant repetitive tasks, I have worked on different different tech areas.

Dislikes

1. No financial growth, though for almost the last 3 years I have given my 200% on whatever task has been assigned to me, I have received negligible hike and no promotion. 2. In 2024 because of the company situation multiple silent layoffs happened and multiple shuffling of a team, 3 times in 3 months to be precise which is not professional and makes employees stressful unnecessary.

Dislikes

Work ethics of some managers and mid seniors is widely poor. I haven't experienced the promised flat culture in the past 3 years. Promotions, appraisals and employee wellbeing is not taken care of. The loyalty and time an employee has dedicated to the company is not appreciated.

No-one's job is secure at Kyndryl. Although we understand that company is dependent on clients/projects but company should keep some funding to allow Kyndryl search optional job/learn new things in 6 months (currently 3 months).
