The work environment at EY is really good. The working policy is flexible. Along with work there are social events, team building activities and a good leave policy which really enhance the working experience at EY.
Though there is flexibility in working hours, during interim and busy seasons it is expected to work for 11-12 working hours which is quite stressful. Your better working experience will also be dependent on the team that you get aligned to.

Their regional discrimination among the team members while offering work(loads) and while offering rewards and promotions for the same(nothing). I was in the Hitrust team and was reporting to now manager then senior consultant and senior manager, was pathetic in the behaviour, use to talk always in a bad way and senior manager always asked to stretch work hours which we always end up doing because we all not love but need the job and never gave feedbacks, during the time of promotions she never came back and told why I was not being promoted or when were the occasions when she was told my work was not up to the mark- never but yet 6 months experience 8 months experienced guys get promoted who never ever worked on end to end projects....Read More

The manager was very supportive and the work life balance was good.
The unnecessary pressure to work from office and the unsupportive rude behaviour of the HR. There was nothing given above and beyond the salary not even box of sweets on small occasions. All the team outings and activities were self sponsored.

But not enough and nothing is enough to completely dismantle your work-life balance and your private life as well.Company culture: Worst. Plagued with internal politics and favouritism. Kolkata branch especially has deep-rooted nepotism so do make friends with the ones who have familiar connections with the top brass (If you're an unfortunate employee in the Kolkata branch). Job security: Officially EY doesn't believe in the hire-and-fire culture as communicated quite vocally by the HRs, but unofficially and as the truth is about them, if you get on the wrong footing with the seniors, they will make it a personal mission to see you're thrown out of the company. Promotions: Be on the good books of the nepo colleagues and they will have a good word for you with the higher management (their relatives) and viola! You have been promoted! Or, get on their bad books and see yourself getting thrown out the next year or so. Yes, work isn't a qualifying metric for promotions, sadly.
