NTT DATA OFFER

I recently had offers from EY (26 LPA CTC) and NTT Data (22.8 LPA CTC), both offering interesting roles—EY with 21 LPA fixed, 20% variable, and a 1 Lakh joining bonus, and NTT Data with 20 LPA fixed and 14% variable for a remote BMW client project. When I shared my Photon offer (25 LPA fixed CTC) as a counter, the NTT Data recruiter dismissed it, claiming it had no joining date and uncertainty from the client. She said she could have matched it only if I had an offer like EY—essentially lowballing me. When I went back with EY’s offer, she again lowballed me, saying EY has high work pressure and that NTT Data is a better choice. Despite multiple attempts, she was not even ready to match EY’s offer. She then asked for my EY joining date, which was tomorrow (though EY was flexible for a week’s extension). Note: I have wrote extension in comment box due to text limit.

She promised to check with higher management and update me the today, but cleverly delayed the process, saying the manager was busy and she said she would update me the tomorrow—conveniently surpassing EY’s joining date.

Do you think companies should be more transparent in these discussions?
