No HR representative transperancy to contact, I thought that every employee tries to avoid the risk from doing the task

Its completely dependent on the Manager you are reporting to, but ideally the evironment is not great. The senior managment doesn't know how to lead by example. They are trying to enfore work, they are in frenzy

Senior management isn't great. They are just reacting to different situations, but ideally no proper governance.

Learning scope is good. You have a dedicated platform to explore and learn the skill of your choice at your convenience.

Dislikes

Promotion cycle/criteria changes recently adopted (Internal Job Moves) - allowing supervisors to promote the resources to next level without a specific criteria. This is creating official platform for favourability.

Likes

Ample of learning opportunities if you are willing to take it. Good work life balance in general. Good culture. Leadership if open to hearing employees issues and support them as possible.

Salary is lower compared to other firms.

Authoritative Leadership, Office politics, Biased opportunities and performance reviews. Forced attrition. Insurance policy is not good. Delayed hikes and promotions, Extended work hours due to hybrid work policy. Pets take most of the perks unless you work so hard that they have to share some. However, these are most common things that you will come across all IT companies. Just learn to survive, upskill and excel. Dislikes

Extended working hours on almost daily basis. Sincere employees are overburdened with work while the insincere ones just enjoy. No time for self learning due to long working hours. Appraisal is based on office politics and not credibility.

Great place to try out diverse project experiences if you have positive attitudes to learn everything. Leadership is passionate of new technology and client centricity. Pays competitive salary benefits may not be high at times but sustainable for long, rewarding association. Will recommend people to experience Cognizant.

Dislikes

If you remain too good on a domain, likely you will get trapped into it and not allowed to learn horizontal skills. So keeping a balance and relationship to horizontal people are important in any large project centric organization.

I liked the ambience and my colleagues in my healthcare domain we used to call by names and not by Sir or Madam Cognizant given me when it comes to personal growth

Many things I dislike about Cognizant that is their washrooms were not clean and planetary area. Everywhere there are cockroaches. The management here is good, but favourite ism and in equality among employees was done based on the religion criteria and not everyone was treated fairly not speaking in regional language Taking cooked up meetings when there is any sick leave taken with document’s but not approved by Manager, then it would be considered as LOP. I still remember an escalation was done by me by a behaviour of my SME. But when I mentioned the same to a manager, he stated he will surely look into this and the next moment, I saw him laughing with my Sm. Management will not care about your problems. Salary is low compared to competitors. They'll change your project at September and for year end rating they'll simply say we haven't got chance to fully understand your capabilities as you've recently joined in the project. No benefit of certifications. Is pure luck to get project on new tech. No one cares for your progress. Only project work matters. Employee benefit are below average.

The most I disliked is the annual hikes which is just peanuts. They have given 3-5% hikes to all the employees ( 5% was the maximum hike given to the top performers, rest all got 3-4%. Management forced us to work on weekends from office which could have been easily managed from home as no one comes on weekends and feels like I am in graveyard, and the entire bay remains empty.

As a technical support analyst, your leaves depend on the team. I worked on 3 different teams 1. Large team you have to preplan the leaves minimum 15 days before the start of each month, so it is hard to get leaves for festivals 2. Good manager always approved leaves 3. Can't even imagine to take leave tightly packed roster. Work life balance is good because I was in work from home most of the time. Job security depends on situations. Few of my friends were in bench for more than 6 months, happily receiving salary without joining any project.
