Once you completed your project, and if you are on bench if you’re not able to get another project within 35 days, 35 calendar days, not even working days, then you have to resign to your job and you’ll get mails show cause notices from HR after 35 days. That’s the situation in Cogniznt.

Some managers are good but most are toxic.

Most things. From salary to no other benefits. Most people don't even have the qualities to become a manager yet they are leading teams. Work life balance is a joke, not because of the company itself but because of the managers here.

If you have skill required for the project you can stay as long as you want and your manager will always stand for you,

Company not care about their employee now a day, giving very less anual bonus which is around 4% and even promotional increment is also 10%, once you on bench and decline more than three project offer due to night shift or due to location you will get hr show cause mail which may terminate if not provide proper justification, also they did not compensate me for relocation for the project.

Good working culture among similar service based company. CTC is straight forward almost like a product based company where fixed component is more and variable component is less Good team and good development projects compared to support projects in other companies Good work life balance

Hikes and promotion are not good. Recent policy changes are not employee friendly Golden days of Cognizant over once Francisco D’Souza tenure as CEO ended

Appraisal and increment is joke now a days Projects are ok and not much complex kind of work No clear transparency on the promotion process. Stability is good. Though in the ongoing global recession, many of my co-workers had to leave projects because of project ramp down and did not get any other projects. Instead of recruiting employees from bench in other projects they are hiring more from people outside.

Dislikes

Appraisal is bad. So joining with low salary does not help much in the long run, better to switch.

Nothing is likable at all. The extended the training for whole 6 months. Imagine a software training going on for such long time. Without any proper sessions. All was seld learning. They wasted 1 full year after graduation in giving FTE joining.

Dislikes

Work culture is not so good. Everything is controlled by few top leadership members which are from South India. They have a mindset problem against North indians.

Particularly from experience with my project, teammates are very helpful and supportive, there aren't any petty politics happening behind your back. They're flexible and understanding about work like balance and working hours.

Dislikes

Promotion and appraisal policy is not very optimal, sometimes I felt I am not duly compensated against my efforts. Job offers from other companies aren't matched and even early release is difficult to attain while being in a project.
