Interview Preparation Tips

Interview preparation tips for other job seekers - It's wonderful and good experience.Interviewers often ask this question as a way to determine whether or not you took time to research the company and to learn why you see yourself as a good fit. The best way to prepare for this question is to do your homework and learn about the products, services, mission, history and culture of this workplace. In your answer, mention the aspects of the company that appeal to you and align with your career goals. Explain why you’re looking for these things in an employer.

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Resume Shortlist
Experience: Mostly on CGPA.

Round: Test
Experience: Duals & M.Techs (PGET profile) could sit for the GD directly.
Written test based on Core and Quant.
Duration: 60 minutes

Round: Group Discussion
Experience: They clearly specified that they were looking for analytical ability to assess the situation and the way one leads/mingles with the group
They select people who made some sensible arguments. Also, for managerial profiles, one should be able to direct the discussion without actually commanding it
Logical points, teamwork, quality, and fluency of speaking are qualities looked for
After the GD (for people who clear it), there might be a personality assessment test, but it was not an elimination round. They give a set of 50 words and ask to select the most appropriate words that you want to see in others. And the same set of words are given again and you have to select which of them are relevant to you
Tips: You need not speak throughout the GD. You should make certain good points and complement others points. Giving examples to substantiate your point helps.

Round: Interview
Experience: Be ready for questions from Strength of Materials, IC engines, etc. ; especially numbers( say the Ultimate tensile strength of mild steel); for PGET it's more about the project.
Projects, future aspirations in the company, basic questions on automobiles are common topics discussed in interviews.
Again numbers are important, questions like, what the typical value of ignition delay is, defining ignition delay for CI/SI engine are common.
Some questions on IC Engines. Mostly the questions are on the projects and internships.
Tips: Try and drive the interview if you can, based on your prior experience in the industry or projects, and don't lose your cool if the interviewers retaliate. Stay confident with your knowledge throughout.

Round: Interview
Experience: Be ready with answers to standard HR questions. The interview is a mix of HR + Tech which gives you enough time to get comfortable, If you were fumbling in tech, HR would step in with a question and vice versa.

General Tips: The start of an interview is really important, so work on your HR answers as well as the 'tell me about yourself'. Frame your answers in a way the interviewer expects them to be.
Revise my core fundaes. Prepared about my internships and projects.
DDP in relevant field helps, presence of mind, sense of humor, keeping things relevant even in GD, are important aspects.
Reading through handwritten notes of core courses saves a lot of effort and time. You have to master a few courses like Turbo machines, Mfg. Tech and IC Engines(these 3 are important for most of the companies; don't neglect turbo).
DOME; SOM; KDOMS; Heat transfer are important topics.
Be thorough with your resume and also the important core courses. Having mock GDs and interviews will help a lot.
The most important thing is the resume. So please get your resume checked multiple times by multiple people; even the best people can‟t find faults at times, then check it yourself and know your resume inside out.
