It was my childhood dream to work at TCS. So It's like I'm living my dream.

Dislikes

Because of job security, some people have become the family of members of TCS without gaining any knowledge and due internal politics, they are earning really good money. Freshers aren't treated we'll in most of the projects. It's really rare to find good hearted people here.

Likes

1.) Job Security. 2.) Free Access to various learning portal like Udemy, Linkedin etc. 3.) Onsite opportunity to lot of countries. 4.) Relocation to different locations based on project approval.

Dislikes

1.) If you are on Bench and there is no relevant project available with TCS to match your current skill set then RMG will ask you to learn new skill set and give interview to client for new project. So learning a new skill set after 15 years of exp is quite time consuming and even if you learnt then with 15 years of experience whereclient is paying huge on behalf of you to TCS so you should be pro in domain which is quite difficult. In Case If you will be on Bench for a year TCS will give you D grade by default and your overall CTC will be reduced by flat 25% that is biggest drawback of TCS. 2.) You will only get 30% of your variable pay mentioned in CTC. 3.) There is no loyal commitments from managers here. They will only give lollipop (like increase in salary or onsite) till the time project is dependent on you. 4.) You won't get enough monetary benefits in TCS as in other companies. The hike policy structure is not good compared to other organizations.

Job security (as of now). However, TCS is likely to lose their credibility for that in near future, as new management only thinks about profit without worrying about employees' welfare, health and growth.

Many things, starting with Policies... Policies are to supress employees' interests or benefits. They don't walk the talk and keep the promises they make (including higher level management, and they would even change/stop policies which would directly affect the compensation offered to you) Unhygienic workplaces, it gives vibes of old school government offices. Poor increment. All basic needs expenses are increasing but in tcs salary percentage is not given according to that. What ever increment you get most of the amount is added in variable pay and other, so take home salary will not sufficient. If you got promoted means.your manager will not good band. Role change is very difficult. Mechanical engineering related courses are less.even if you are willing to do some course, your manager may not approve or appreciate.they will ask to concentrate only on delivery. I joined a Fresher. been working for 2.5 years. i can confidently say that my experience has been exceptional. Good work-life balance. and a great supportive team. Even though the salary for freshers is average the job security is good.
