Education has taken a different approach since the dawn of democracy in south Africa. Instead of becoming a leading country in the continent we have fallen aback with our curriculum and have made the biggest injustice by changing it from the traditional method to the present Caps.

Dislikes

The lack of support for education staff at schools is my biggest concern....then in our country we still do not have a set curriculum for the different disabilities of learner's...for example..SID....MID...LSPID... AUTISTIC.... CEREBRAL PALSY... DOWN SYNDROME....and so I don't have a defined curriculum....so schools make up their own and may differ from school to school... adversely affecting learner development..... The lack of support staff and non educator personnel will always affect the culture of teaching and learning.... moreover at a special needs school that needs to provide individual attention and smaller class group work....all these are impossible due to staff shortages. The lack of support by educational department has given rise to low moral and this in turn affects quality specialized education The lack of appropriate resources and funding as well as the lack of paramedical staff......as in physiotherapists....speech therapist and audiologist....occupational therapist and psychologists as well as nurses add to the burden of quality and specialized education. The lack of appliances that form as assistive devices for the differently abl d also compound our problem.....
