There is not much to like it here in GTS.You ll have immense work if you are capable with no financial growth.
There is nothing much to like.So IBM sets an example in poor employee care.

Working at IBM was a good experience as the company really provides Job security and has various opportunities to grow and explore our career in large varity of opportunities provided by this mega plateform of services.
The only and improtant aspect of working is for earning money and expecting increase of compensation in every financial year is not a very good experience working with IBM, however wages are biggest challenge in IBM its very difficult to get appraisal every year in IBM.

I take pride that I am part of IBM. It's a brand that has been contibuting for the society with new technologies/ patents every year. It's a huge organisation that has shown resilience and bounced back into competition. Its size and complex internal process makes it a bit sluggish to maneuver the sharp bends introduced by fast changing consumer needs and emerging trends. However, what makes it so special is that it's still a leader in innovation and introducing new technologies which other companies leverage to build their products on. It's a process driven and employee centric organisation. Work culture of IBM is awesome, its all based on trust. No other organisation as per my knowledge trusts its employees as much as my IBM. IBM invest a lot in training and development. After joining IBM I have completed ITIL Foundation, ITIL Intermediate, ISO Auditor, Agile, Data Science training and certification. Its just in a span of 5 years, which I could not do in my previous 12 years of career with Dell and DRDO. Since it's a process driven organisation, its ethically very strong. Too much into process. These process has multiple approval layers. Things that should take a few hours goes on for few days. Because of its size, any new change takes longer to implement. And again due to its massive size and hierarchal/ matrix structure transparancy takes a beating. IBM lately began working on few initiatives to increase employee salary structure.

Promotion period is minimum 2 years. But it depends on your manager. Managers do coast cutting, due to this promotion delay. Hr is not available so we can say anything about any thing to hr. When you fail to answer one or two questions, they give negative feedback. They use these negative feedback to terminate you. Please be sure that you are assigned to the project before you join IBM

Initially I was placed in banglore but it seems northees will never fit there.. people use to talk in their native language. Upon asking what was being discussed nothing was answered. Shifted to gurgaon via internal movement.. here the manager's behaviour is like a pampered kid. If he doesn't get what is required he will start misbehaving with the team. The worst decision in my life to choose IBM. The work environment is not good here and the worst things is the senior level people which is not supported anymore, who fire anyone without any solid reason.Ever since I left this company I am in depression.Due to this I could never join any other company again.

If you get a good project, the clients are great. You get to interact with them on a daily basis and they are not too pushy.
The management 1. They give very minimal hike and during your appraisal cycle they change your PeM. The new PeM don't even know what my rating is and doesn't even discuss about it. In my 3 yrs with IBM I had discussion after I put my papers only as it coincides with Appraisal Cycle. And in 3 years I got 1 hike only. Rest of the time due to PeM change, I couldn't even know the reason for 0 hike. 2. Work Life balance - they say they have rules about having a strict work life balance. They have some unnecessary processes which take away most of your time. 3. Manager interaction - I would say 0. They have some internal politics and they just give least benifits to hardest working person. 4. Rewards and recognition - when you are doing a tough project, they will be like this guy is putting so much effort. We have to give him something and they give 1000-2000 just to motivate. Once the project is done, no appreciation, no mail mentioning the work done. Nothing 5. Retention - they do politics here as well. They told whatever you get we will match. But when I went with the request of my expectations. They didn't even bother and said maximum we can give 40%. Once you put paper don't look back. 6. GDP and PA- they have to distribute the amount within the team equally. TL is paid less than rest of the team. And most of the time it is chillar I have put in way too much work for my Hike percent. And other people who don't have skillset have reaped rewards....Read More
