There are no promotions until 3 of employment. For that again you need some industry training. After which managers will send your reference for promotion which again on account basis which can take time of a month, quarter or even a year.

Great, innovation driven culture. Lots of opportunities for learning. Great ambience to work and motivating managers.

Uncertainty over job. Poor promotion culture where some of the associates get promoted easily and for others it is tough as anything. The perks too are being given that way only.

Favoritism is based on location. If you work with Kolkata people, they will just make use of you. They will exclusively focus on negative thoughts with you at the end of the year. Technical skills should be the basis of the rating score, not employee based location. Internal movement between teams is almost always a fight. Often people are made to work in mixed bag of tasks/technologies, that might make one a jack of all trades and makes specialisation in one/some skillset go away.

Depends upon the team you are working with, generally a nice company with very convenient workspace and culture . No strict timings ,Salary is Good 👍🏻

Toxic Managers and Delivery Managers. They never speak politely even during normal calls. No empowerment given to senior employees do so work on their own. No job security. If you are in bench and no project for a month even when you join immediately they ask you to forcefully resign. Mangers think they only knows everything. Delievery managers talk very rudely and literally harrass everyone. I never seen any motivation or appreciation from them in these two years. -Poor management -No work Life balance -Every time Management goes against IBM policies, they expect you to do overtime on regular basis and mandatory weekend working, if you standup for yourself they will humiliate you and move you to another process and same thing happens there as well.

The hire at a high salary thenk keep you on bench. Then they ask you to resign as you are on bench. Don't resign.

They don't have any project or requirement. They just hire you to fill their bench. You will get project interviews but none of them will hire you even if your interview was good. And if the interview was bad they will send that review to your WFM which they can later use to justify ending your employment.

Salary is decent in India Software Labs, equivalent of Tier 2 PBCs. RSUs are also given to employees who perform well. IBM has turned its tech suite around after the RedHat acquisition, even for z/mainframe products. You will get stuck in one job band for a very long time. Promotions from 7B to 8 are very hard in particular. Also, IBM India is the only entity among all IBM entities to have A and B subbands till job level 7 (tech lead), effectively prohibiting your growth to a decision-making position for a longer time. Indian management, especially managers who have moved laterally from IBM Consulting, is extremely orthodox, and technically inept. If your product delivery is controlled by an onshore lab (U.S., U.K., Germany, etc), expect the Indian management to have no understanding of what it is that you are doing on a day-to-day basis, and to be at loggerheads with the onshore managers.
