When you fail to answer one or two questions, they give negative feedback. They use these negative feedback to terminate you. Please be sure that you are assigned to the project before you join IBM

Work life balance and company culture is good...for freshers first year hike will be good then u can expect normal hikes based on ur project revenue.

HR roles and responsibilities and their visibility could be better. Flexibility in office hours results in odd timming for employees who have family responsibilities, and by and large is at the hands of your reporting manager. 75% of the large accounts and associated project work is US and UK based, consequently employee end up working at odd hours, thereby taking dents at work life balance. Initially I was placed in banglore but it seems northees will never fit there.. people use to talk in their native language. Upon asking what was being discussed nothing was answered. Shifted to gurgaon via internal movement.. here the manager's behaviour is like a pampered kid. If he doesn't get what is required he will start misbehaving with the team. Overall a pathetic experience

The work environment is not good here and the worst things is the senior level people which is not supported anymore, who fire anyone without any solid reason.Ever since I left this company I am in depression.Due to this I could never join any other company again.

Nothing I liked. The leaders in Bangalore especially Q2C team follow bad practices by promoting their family members, relatives. The leaders or Managers don't follow ethics. IBM is a great company but leaders or managers in Q2C are very bad

-Poor management -No work Life balance -Every time Management goes against IBM policies, they expect you to do overtime on regular basis and mandatory weekend working, if you standup for yourself they will humiliate you and move you to another process and same thing happens there as well.

The hire at a high salary thenk keep you on bench. Then they ask you to resign as you are on bench. Don't resign.

They don't have any project or requirement. They just hire you to fill their bench. You will get project interviews but none of them will hire you even if your interview was good. And if the interview was bad they will send that review to your WFM which they can later use to justify ending your employment.

There are no promotions until 3 of employment. For that again you need some industry training. After which managers will send your reference for promotion which again on account basis which can take time of a month, quarter or even a year.

Salary is decent in India Software Labs, equivalent of Tier 2 PBCs. RSUs are also given to employees who perform well. IBM has turned its tech suite around after the RedHat acquisition, even for z/mainframe products. Newer tech stack is being implemented at breakneck pace, enough to overwhelm senior developers as well. Lots of opportunities to learn new stuff, including agentic AI. You will get stuck in one job band for a very long time. Promotions from 7B to 8 are very hard in particular. Also, IBM India is the only entity among all IBM entities to have A and B subbands till job level 7 (tech lead), effectively prohibiting your growth to a decision-making position for a longer time. Indian management, especially managers who have moved laterally from IBM Consulting, is extremely orthodox, and technically inept. If your product delivery is controlled by an onshore lab (U.S., U.K., Germany, etc), expect the Indian management to have no understanding of what it is that you are doing on a day-to-day basis, and to be at loggerheads with the onshore managers.
