Everything is negative here, boot-licking culture. Client is always right even they say that a man have 5 legs, EY upper management will agree on that. No support for their employees.

Work-life balance: There is none. Additionally, get ready to have your private space invaded. Skill development: None to offer whatsoever. Redundant work with close to nothing in terms of improvement. Salary: Pays well. But not enough and nothing is enough to completely dismantle your work-life balance and your private life as well.Company culture: Worst. Plagued with internal politics and favouritism. Kolkata branch especially has deep-rooted nepotism so do make friends with the ones who have familiar connections with the top brass (If you're an unfortunate employee in the Kolkata branch). Job security: Officially EY doesn't believe in the hire-and-fire culture as communicated quite vocally by the HRs, but unofficially and as the truth is about them, if you get on the wrong footing with the seniors, they will make it a personal mission to see you're thrown out of the company. Promotions: Be on the good books of the nepo colleagues and they will have a good word for you with the higher management (their relatives) and viola! You have been promoted! Or, get on their bad books and see yourself getting thrown out the next year or so. Yes, work isn't a qualifying metric for promotions, sadly. Work satisfaction: If you are up for redundant work and looking for a place to exclusively retire yourself having done all the improvements and upskilling that you could in your entire career and finally said to yourself it's time to hang up the boots but still need a moderate source of income, then this is the right place for you to be and you'd be satisfied by how stagnant and redundant the work here is. Their regional discrimination among the team members while offering work(loads) and while offering rewards and promotions for the same(nothing). I was in the Hitrust team and was reporting to now manager then senior consultant and senior manager, was pathetic in the behaviour, use to talk always in a bad way and senior manager always asked to stretch work hours which we always end up doing because we all not love but need the job and never gave feedbacks, during the time of promotions she never came back and told why I was not being promoted or when were the occasions when she was told my work was not up to the mark- never but yet 6 months experience 8 months experienced guys get promoted who never ever worked on end to end projects....Read More

In Tech Consulting the management is not bothered until you keep clients happy. You enjoy a freedom and flexibility to work as per client team. You won't be micromanaged from EY.

Dislikes

Hikes are less, even if your feedback was nice. It's like everyone gets the same hike, irrespective of the individual performances.

Managers don't bother about their sub ordinates, neither are interested to have any healthy conversations. Crapy salary hike, no promotion, no skill upliftment.

I had a great time at EY. I was surrounded by very hard working people who set very high standards and very good example. The Leadership under whom I work was very supportive and helpful.

The demands of work is high and pace of work is quite fast. Even though I enjoyed it. But it may not be for everyone

My manager skills were unmatched with any other staff at EY. It always feels like home working with him.

That I am not working anymore with EY just because of my quick decision making. I regret that I left the organization and now there is no coming back.

Very un-structured org. No defined processes. One is made to take up lot of admin work on subjects that they have never done before which deviates from their main KPI. Hence, job satisfaction is zero.
