The culture was very bad, there was no work-life balance. The management was not supportive and tremendous rude with employees - Often calling on weekends and nightshifts. Managers used to glorify over work. The environment was like a dungeon. There is no growth for career except those who use to butter managers.

Work life balance is good. Job satisfaction is also fair. Company pays fair enough. I am not satisfied or I should say I am not impressed with the appraisal procedure implemented by the management. Post 1 year no appraisal at all or the performance bonus. They have their own way of doing it in the month of July or August and it doesn’t matter when you have completed 1 year.

Cognizant will not pay you well , Even if you are eligible for a better pay at the correct time they will release you from the project so that they don't have to promote you

Auto Promotion seems to be a good thing however, I didn't get it as I am completely 2 years with organization

No HR representative transperancy to contact, I thought that every employee tries to avoid the risk from doing the task

I believe working in a company is totally depends on the project team with whom we are working. As per my team experience I don't have any issues with the people and the culture of the company. The teammates and seniors around me are helpful and also the manager is good, he always motivate us to grow more.

Dislikes

Some time when somebody need to change their work location for the clients need then company should provide sufficient facilities which company does not provide, this is something which is unexpected.

Bad company culture Slave system Compulsory WFO for 5 days a week 3%hike that too delayed by 6 months Toxic Managers Useless HRs Hired us through campus placements as programmer analyst and gave us service desk role. No training was provided by company and cheated us . We were around 1000+ who got the same support roles after being selected as programmer analyst from campus.

Cognizant has its strengths, but I feel there's room for improvement in several areas beyond just salary. For me, the overall experience hasn’t aligned with my expectations.

In my personal experience, I have faced challenges with the lack of qualified managers and team leads. For instance, in our team, we work from different locations, and our team lead rarely conducted regular team huddles. Even when I, as a senior, tried to take responsibility and initiate meetings, he would often find reasons to stopor postpone them. Over the course of the year, he connected with the team only four or five times, which was far from adequate for effective team collaboration. Additionally, my manager has been disconnected from the team for over a year. When he first joined during a critical transformation period, he did not take the time to observe the team members' expertise, interests, or long-term goals. This lack of involvement left us feeling unsupported and undervalued. One major concern was the cultural bias I experienced. Being from Chennai and a Tamil speaker, I noticed a clear difference in how I and others like me were treated compared to team members from Hyderabad, particularly Telugu-speaking colleagues. Nothing, meets zero expectations. Made work like hell even during my maternity journey 24 hrs and with pretty worst monetary benefit. There was no work life balance and also I was forced to resign with no other option saying you cannot continue with your old role or team a month back when I was just about to join after ML.

Poor work-life balance, no salary hike, no benefits, no proper ratings, general shift has no timings it is round the clock.

if you in bench, HR will torture you to put resignation within one month. also you have no option to choose project and select anything worst comes to you. no proper shift allowances will provided. they have zero 0% for mental health 100% for work.
