Cognizant have lot of job opportunities and provide nice pay according to market standards. People working in cognizant can switch to other technology and work on it.

Hikes are very less when compare to other companies. Due to internal politics talented people efforts are recognised.

But if you give more importance to mental health than salary don't join this company. You are literally a slave of the client and no body will speak for you.. and if your too lucky to get a client like Novartis(pharmaceutical company) and especially get into celonis tool project then you can say bye bye to your mental health and just hug the salary you get and stay. Working hard is not the issue but the politics they play and the slavery you guys will experience is more than what was done in the colonization period. Company is good but sometimes your management is frustrating. Biased to favourites. Skilll development used to happen when i joined but disappeared with time. ( earlier they used to proivde six sigma training but never after that). Its unfortunate that your manager never shows data on the basis of which you are rated. Just verbal words and assumption. If they want to fire you they will put work pressure on you and appoint their pawn around you who will point fingers on you and sometimes plays with your emotions as well. Even if you are working hard you or your team will be never recognized. Suddenly after you left / aur asked to volunterly resign by HR your team will become best team on the floor because it was then headed by the same pawn. Polictics is played everywhere but cognizant is the hub. SDM makes their own rules and follow them. This all happened after my management was changed....Read More

Work life balance is good. Job satisfaction is also fair. Company pays fair enough. I am not satisfied or I should say I am not impressed with the appraisal procedure implemented by the management. Post 1 year no appraisal at all or the performance bonus. They have their own way of doing it in the month of July or August and it doesn’t matter when you have completed 1 year.

Its completely dependent on the Manager you are reporting to, but ideally the evironment is not great. The senior managment doesn't know how to lead by example. They are trying to enfore work, they are in frenzy

I liked the ambience and my colleagues in my healthcare domain we used to call by names and not by Sir or Madam Cognizant given me when it comes to personal growth

Many things I dislike about Cognizant that is their washrooms were not clean and planetary area. Everywhere there are cockroaches. The management here is good, but favourite ism and in equality among employees was done based on the religion criteria and not everyone was treated fairly not speaking in regional language Taking cooked up meetings when there is any sick leave taken with document’s but not approved by Manager, then it would be considered as LOP. I still remember an escalation was done by me by a behaviour of my SME. But when I mentioned the same to a manager, he stated he will surely look into this and the next moment, I saw him laughing with my Sm. Management will not care about your problems. Salary is low compared to competitors. They'll change your project at September and for year end rating they'll simply say we haven't got chance to fully understand your capabilities as you've recently joined in the project. No benefit of certifications. Is pure luck to get project on new tech. No one cares for your progress. Only project work matters. Employee benefit are below average.

The most I disliked is the annual hikes which is just peanuts. They have given 3-5% hikes to all the employees ( 5% was the maximum hike given to the top performers, rest all got 3-4%. Management forced us to work on weekends from office which could have been easily managed from home as no one comes on weekends and feels like I am in graveyard, and the entire bay remains empty.

As a technical support analyst, your leaves depend on the team. I worked on 3 different teams 1. Large team you have to preplan the leaves minimum 15 days before the start of each month, so it is hard to get leaves for festivals 2. Good manager always approved leaves 3. Can't even imagine to take leave tightly packed roster. Work life balance is good because I was in work from home most of the time. The best part of cognizant is skill development - Free Udemy subscription, Free vouchers for Microsoft, Google, AWS certifications. While one of my friend was dismissed from cognizant because of not reporting to office during bench time.
