The most I disliked is the annual hikes which is just peanuts. They have given 3-5% hikes to all the employees ( 5% was the maximum hike given to the top performers, rest all got 3-4%. Management forced us to work on weekends from office which could have been easily managed from home as no one comes on weekends and feels like I am in graveyard, and the entire bay remains empty.

But if you give more importance to mental health than salary don't join this company. You are literally a slave of the client and no body will speak for you.. and if your too lucky to get a client like Novartis(pharmaceutical company) and especially get into celonis tool project then you can say bye bye to your mental health and just hug the salary you get and stay. Working hard is not the issue but the politics they play and the slavery you guys will experience is more than what was done in the colonization period. One of the best employee centric company in service based industry, recent statements from leaders from other organisation is shameful and treating their employee as daily wage labourer but thankful to my company leadership who has great vision and decisions are made towards employee focus. Company is still following hybrid model and no fixed days yet.

Dislikes

Promotions and appraisal are not process based, frequent change in salary increament schedule are changed and also arrear are not paid for 3months.

They provide hybrid work culture & location approval as per your need that is the best thing of working in Cognizant.

Here job security is less & those people who were in bench were high chances of layoffs as they don’t get any project.

Overall typical service based company, with lower appraisal %, ideal to stay for 3 years max, else growth would be stopped compared to market and you will be in comfort zone.

Dislikes

Appraisal cycle is worst, they do rating in Dec month and release in Jan, but appraisal will be in impact from June salary. Promotion is a problem here, and you will have to cry every year. It takes minimum 3 years once u r at one level to expect promotion.

Dislikes

Promotion cycle/criteria changes recently adopted (Internal Job Moves) - allowing supervisors to promote the resources to next level without a specific criteria. This is creating official platform for favourability.

I am not recommend for freshers to join in this organisation if u don't have any other option u choose this by u r own risk and u don't know what stack u get even though u get a good stack u r not sure u will work in the trained stack and after 18 months completion mostly they released the fresher from the project moved to bench once u complete 2 years if u don't have project they are asking for forced resignation...Read More

Work life balance. Hybrid work model Salary as there is very little variable component unlike other companies.

Dislikes

No promotions. I have seen people waiting 8 years to be promoted. No job security if you are on bench. No good projects in infrastructure domain for career growth. No skill development. No encouragement to develop cross domain skills. Last but not the least, too much of favouritism based on region and language you speak. Atleast it was in my case.

Salary credited on time. Two way cab. Large campus. Once in 6 months we use to go to trip to nearby places.

No work life balance. Constant pressure to meet targets. Worked overtime without any additional payment. Leads will put you on PIP if you don't meet the targets.

After giving training in academy, there are lot of irregularities in project allocation. Joiners have to wait for 1-6 weeks for projects and also some problems after that. They also don't allow them to report from home during this waiting period (where they are just sitting idle for days).
