The start up environment and the excitement of building something from nothing.

While the startup environment helped me learn a few things, the people running the company had no idea or direction as to how it should be done. Say goodbye to personal life if you want to work here. I worked from 10am to 9pm. If the CEO saw anyone leave at 7:30 or 8pm, he would ask why are people going home early. I was promoted after 2 months of working here and asked to leave 3 months later because they could not afford me. Right after the HR told me to leave, the CEO asked me to stay back for 2 months with a 35% paycut and then they will review. I quit as I did not see any future in such a hostile environment.
