Background: - My company shut down. I was a Program Operations Manager and Strategic Partnerships Manager at an edtech startup with 5 years of experience. - I want to switch industries but avoid roles that feel generic or limit future career options. Current Opportunity: - I got an offer from an experienced external stakeholder to build a new startup with him. - The startup combines education (my strength) and fintech (a field I want to learn). - The salary is lower than my previous job. Pros: - The startup has high growth potential, and if successful, I could recover my losses. - If it doesn’t work out, he’d help me get into the BFSI industry. - I'd gain exposure to various domains, but the work will be demanding. Dilemma: - Should I take this startup offer, hustle for a year, and learn, or should I look for a more stable corporate job?
