Job Title: Metro Head - HR
Location: Mumbai, Maharashtra
About the Role:
We are looking for an accomplished HR professional to join our team as the Metro Head - HR. This pivotal role involves leading the HR function for our operations in Mumbai while aligning HR strategies with business objectives. The ideal candidate will combine extensive HR experience with a strong understanding of the local business culture and labor laws. Fluency in Marathi and English is essential, as this position requires cultural sensitivity and excellent communication skills to engage with a diverse workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic HR Leadership:
- Develop and implement HR strategies that align with the metro region's business goals.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on HR matters, driving strategic decision-making.
2. Talent Acquisition & Management:
- Lead end-to-end recruitment for key roles, ensuring the right talent aligns with business needs.
- Design and execute strategies for talent retention, succession planning, and leadership development.
3. Employee Relations & Engagement:
- Build a positive and inclusive work environment by spearheading employee engagement initiatives.
- Address and resolve employee grievances in compliance with company policies and labor laws.
4. Compliance & Governance:
- Ensure full adherence to labor laws, statutory regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain strong relationships with local labor authorities and government bodies.
5. HR Operations:
- Oversee payroll, performance management, and other HR systems for the metro region.
- Continuously improve operational efficiency in HR processes.
6. Learning & Development:
- Identify skill gaps and implement training programs to upskill employees.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
7. Cultural Sensitivity:
- Use Marathi fluency to build trust and connect with local employees.
- Respect and navigate regional cultural nuances to ensure effective communication.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Educational Background: Postgraduate degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field (e.g., MBA-HR, MA in HRM).
- Experience: 15-25 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in manufacturing, infrastructure, or related industries.
- Fluency in Marathi (spoken and written) and English is mandatory.
- In-depth knowledge of Maharashtra labor laws, HR compliance, and regulatory frameworks.
- Proven leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead large teams and multi-location operations.
- Strategic mindset with a hands-on approach to solving complex challenges.
