Job Overview :
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Cyber Security Policy Maker to join our Information Technology team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive cyber security policies and frameworks that safeguard the organization's digital assets, data, and information systems. Your expertise in security protocols, risk management, and regulatory compliance will be essential to ensure that the organization's security policies align with both internal and external standards.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and maintain cyber security policies, procedures, and standards to ensure the integrity and security of the organization's IT infrastructure.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as IT, legal, and compliance to ensure security policies align with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct risk assessments and create mitigation strategies to address potential security threats and vulnerabilities.
- Review and update policies regularly to reflect changes in industry standards, regulations, and emerging security threats.
- Ensure that policies are clear, actionable, and compliant with relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Provide guidance and training on cyber security policies to internal stakeholders to ensure awareness and adherence.
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of implemented policies through audits and assessments.
- Assist in incident response planning and coordination, ensuring that policies align with response strategies.
- Stay up to date on the latest trends in cyber security, legal compliance, and industry standards to ensure policies remain current and relevant.
- Work with senior leadership to report on the effectiveness of cyber security policies and recommend changes as necessary.
Qualifications and Skills :
Essential :
- Bachelor's Engineering degree.
- 2 to 3 years of experience in cyber security policy-making or related fields.
- Strong understanding of cyber security frameworks, risk management, and industry standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
- Knowledge of compliance requirements such as GDPR, HIPAA, and others.
- Excellent communication, writing, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze and interpret complex security and regulatory information.
- Experience creating or maintaining security policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Knowledge of threat landscapes, incident response, and data protection laws.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred :
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA.
- Hands-on experience with security tools and technologies for policy enforcement.
- Experience with audit processes and compliance frameworks.
- Knowledge of data privacy regulations and their impact on policy-making.
- Understanding of emerging technologies (cloud computing, IoT, etc.) and their impact on cyber security policies.
