The idea is to notice that the fractional part repeats only when we have already seen the same remainder before. So, that means we have to store the end index where this repetition starts in some data structure.

We can use Map / HashMap / Dictionary to store the remainder and its associated index while doing division so that whenever the same remainder comes up, we know there is a repeating f...

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Resume Shortlist
Experience: This was direct placement from the CA institute for me. I think the reason I made it is because I had two degrees one of which is a professional degree- CA.
Tips: Well structured CV is important. You can get a professional to do it in case you are unable to figure out the same.

Round: Test
Experience: The test was both an aptitude test and on the technical side. We had MCQs which were a part of the coursework and certain questions to test IQ and logical reasoning. The second part was an essay which was on the technical side. My question was related to monetary policies and although not very specific, it required me to have a fairly good idea of the banking sector. In terms of difficulty level, on a scale of 1-10 I would give it a 8.5.
Tips: Indiabix.com is a good site to look at if you want to hone your logical reasoning skills. Manage your time. Do not blabber in your essay. Make it to the point but long enough to have some substantial content. Go through your course content in advance
Duration: 1 hour

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: The technical interview was a 50 minute long interview. There was a whole lot of grilling. They asked some course related question about taxation and some sector related questions. There were also questions on banking.
Tips: Do not try to beat around the bush and waste the interviewer's time. Even they know that you are new and so you barely have in depth detail of the sector. Do not get baffled by tricky questions. Give smart answers. They also try to see how stress free you can be and how you will handle pressure. Take time to think before you answer a question.

Round: HR Interview
Experience: This interview was just plain normal discussion of work hours, salary required, why do you intend to join, breifing on work contract etc. HR round is more like orientation if you are selected. Nobody is rejected as such after the HR round
Tips: Maintain a good posture. Have a smile on your face. Act pleasant

Skills: Communication skills, Knowledge of subject, Personality, Body Language In Interview, Ability to handle pressure, Logical Reasoning

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: They were looking for if I really wanted this internship, or if I just wanted to go anywhere; a basic and sound understanding of Corp.Fin fundae.

What went wrong/right was Confidence in self and sound basics (even if you don’t know the exact formula, but understand the fundamentals)
Tips: know the basics of the stream you’re looking to enter (they don’t expect you to be an expert, but a basic understanding is expected considering you’re probably going to say that you’re interested in the field!)
know what you’re talking about, esp. which company/desk you want to work at and why?

Round: HR Interview
Tips: A good and interesting CV gives you a good base upon which the interview can be built (2nd interviewer was looking at my CV for at least 50% of the time)
Humour in moderation (but use this only after you have gauged if the interviewer will appreciate it)

prepare a good ‘tell me about yourself’ answer because almost always you’ll be asked that question and not having a good answer in mind (rehearsing the exact words doesn’t matter) will leave a bad impression

Skill Tips: Understanding of basics of Corporate Finance and Financial Derivatives helps understand better what is happening.

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: It was an aptitude test including basic quantitative aptitude, logical reasoning data interpretation, reading comprehension and finance section( this section was there only in HSBC it included few concepts which we learn in Engineering Economics and some basic idea of bond and stocks can be useful) but even if you don't do that well in this section you can still clear the test as I did rather most of us did.

Round: Group Discussion
Experience: 2nd round( Group Discussion):- 50 students were shortlisted after round 1 for GD. Other Topics were:- 1) Rupee devaluation pro's and con's 2) FDI

Round: HR Interview
Experience: It can revolve around banking stuff if you know it or else it can be simple H.R round also in which they might ask you about your internship even if you have done it in core or they can give you some case study and be prepared with all puzzles.

Round: HR Interview
Experience: It was more or less the same as 3rd round it was taken because the panel was bit confused about whom they should reject

General Tips: The overall experience was very good the panel was quite friendly it became tiring because I finished my 3rd round at 2:30 am and had my 4th round 8:00 am in morning so be prepared for such hectic schedule and do not let it affect your performance.
Skill Tips: Just read "THE HINDU" daily. Read properly about recent reforms which can affect the corporate world (e.g land acquisition bill was reformed just before my interview so I used it in my case study so anything can be useful) Try to be unique in your answers for questions like, why you want this company?, why we should recruit you?

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: It was a basic Apti test through which they shortlisted around 40-50 students.

Round: Group Discussion
Experience: So, be prepared with current affairs, slightly on the financial side, for this company, as they also expect you to reason out your decision.

Round: Other Interview
Experience: The next round was Personal Interview. It was a very casual interaction where I told them about my projects and enquired about the job profile and growth.

General Tips: It was rewarding. The process is not only about getting a job, but learning about certain life skills which help you through the process. Patience and determination are the key.
Skill Tips: As far as the Apti is concerned, speed and accuracy is very important and only regular practice can get you there. And take Apti very seriously because it is an elimination process and you have to fight your way in. GDs require a sound knowledge of current affairs and most importantly you should have anopinion about most of the issues. Newspapers, most importantly the editorial section which has experts offering their views on issues will help you develop your opinion. Personal interview is a round where you can steer the whole conversation to your advantage by taking them only through your positives and strengths. Be confident, show that you are genuinely flexible and speak with conviction.

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Group Discussion
Experience: Our group consisted of 15 members, after given the topic they gave little time to think.I could not able to begin the discussion but later i entered the discussion for more than 7 times with new ideas and I explained my ideas loudly and clearly by which I am able to draw the attention of all panel and co-students,which helped me to get through GD. I am not a expert in GD's but my small suggestions may help you.One thing in GD to kept in mind is our body posture and there is nothing to get emotional while discussing.Do not argue much about a single point, better thing is to bring a new idea into discussion and draw attention of all others. As far as possible make the discussion in pleasant manner.
Duration: 20 minutes

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: As this company is not a pure core company for us(electrical), questions asked were not into the core deeply.it started with small questions like thevenin's,norton's theorems.slowly they increased the level of questions. My personal interview lasts for more than 20 min.I was little tensed when I am the next one to enter the interview room but once interview started I was very cool with a smile on my face.In technical questions, I answered almost all but for two questions I think I said frankly that I don't know sir.they gave me a paper to explain some answers with pen and paper.

Round: HR Interview
Experience: Panel consisted of both technical(2) and HR(1) people. In between technical questions HR guy interfered in between and asked questions, HR guy is a cool one and so my HR part went pleasantly. They asked me whether i know what kind of work to be done in their company.I answered "maintenance sir" they he extended the question like "what kind of KICK(Satisfaction) you get by maintenance.I answered it nicely. I was very much satisfied with my answers and I think my performance in HR besides technical helped me to lead others. After interview I was the only one came out happily with a satisfaction on my face.

Skill Tips: These days CGPA matters as all companies(mainly public sector) selection process starts with a cut-off in CG.Only toppers are getting chances to face interviews all the time so try to maintain some good CG. When it comes to the point how to face technical round.Be strong with some basic definitions and small laws why because if we failed to answer them it will create a bad impression.Facing some good core questions is depends on your strength. HR :
My only suggestion is get ready with answers to some questions like
a)Tell me about yourself.
b)Why you choose this branch?
c)Tell what do you know about our company
d)What will you do if some other good company offers you a better job?
Apart from them some minimum things we should follow in personal interview and GD are 'dont loose tongue','address all the panel members while answering as every one will give you points(especially HR)'. Ok friends with these small suggestions that I can give you I am signing off ALL THE BEST.
