Job movement is terrible. They do IJP just to make us feel they have taken interview & we have failed to clear. When you know you have met their expectations still they have pre picked someone whom they want. Hike also they give more to whom they like performance based hike is very less

Standard Chartered is a really good group too work with if you are on the bank side. The benefits and work culture is fast paced and the entire culture is advanced.
The Standard Chartered group culture is very refined and thought through well for employees but Securities as such the management is not really aware of the human resources there are old line managers who barely work and yet are there at the job but the people who work or try to bring change aren't really given any chance. The processes are slow for any initiative and there is absolutely no thought or understanding for guidance. A highly motivated candidate will also get discouraged and leave, for there's no support neither any learning curve. They make marketing people do regular clerical and accounting work. I was hired and within 2 months of joining, my manager from Hong Kong was laid off, and one by one management members (who interviewed me) with whom I was working were laid off and finally after just 7 months I was told my role is at risk, total nonsense, why would you hire if you yourself were not sure about your job. The leave policy is the best thing about Standard Chartered Bank. All the employees should take 10 days block leaves as per company norms across all the regions. The internal movement is hassle free here if we complete 12 months in the current role. Only thing is we should develop the contacts.
Work culture is really like typical Indian culture. Hiarachy and the office environment across the bank is very bad. People will respect you based on the Grade you are in. The respect will be given only if we are AVP or VP positions. When it comes to new comers, the existing employees literally play with the new employees because they didn't get the promotion and their dirty politics really bad.

The company was good two years back i.e. until 2023. Good projects and managed work life balances even in the tough times. But we have flexible hybrid model which is good at SCB GBS Pvt Ltd
Last two years no promotions, no increments. no replacements for the employees who left company.
