I like the IT environment since I am from Mechanical Engineering background.
Hidden inter-politics that influenced by hometown, ex-company members, caste, favouritism for Managers, Business Department Unit heads, etc. No regulated salary packages. example: new Joinee (either IT or Non-IT) receives more than 5-7LPA, but experienced person (Non-IT) receives less than 7 LPA even the employee was loyal to the team & organisation.

If your good at work then no need of any support.
1.salary hike will be policy says March to March but they will give hike on November or December. 2.There will be no appreciation how ever your work good in client. 3.Yearly hike will be min - 1% to max -5% 4.variable pay if you get rating of 8.9 out of 10 quarterly pay out will be 60%. 5.Dewali they never give any gifts or any sweets to employees. 6. They never supports the employee.

I'm writing this review after my resign from my Lead engineering position, In overall market HCL Lead engineer position is kind of entry to mid level career, I holds 6 years of professional experience and with HCL 3.5 years. HCL has all slow process with no transparency. pay you very less comparing pears and industry standards. whenwe request for pay rise as per market need to discuss with L2 manager or higher, they will behave like owner for company and convince you that nothing you did for company. If you in C code project you're done in terms of pay but they will charge more that industry standard with that client. while in project term if you do resign that information to client will be communicated after 75 days and relieve you on 88th day. even you have 1 year experience this company will talk about policy and change for their convenience without employee communication....Read More

Liers, in press conferences they said appraisals will be given to employees in OCTOBER while they have not even provided it till December and is expected to move forward to JAN OR FEB which was earlier expected for July. In short since 2 years no appraisals. Moreover forget about appraisals, they will even cut your EPB component. They don’t even have any process for deciding EPB payout, they randomly decide it. Appraisal cycle is very bad. It extends till months. Employee only hopes to stick to same team, manager and project till the letters are released. Any organizational changes within this 9-10 months of period screws the whole appraisal for an employee.

Now company has started working on new technologies and trying to make a product out of it, I am part of that team. So work satisfaction is there, along with no mandatory WFO ( it mostly depends on your project and manager).

If you want a safe job where you dont get laid off, then this is a good company. They give you a healthy work life balance.
Forget about appraisals, hikes or bonuses. In 2 years i got zero hike. When they change project they could change your base location even without your consent. I was hired as an automation engineer but later i had to switch to linux System Engineer role.

Negligible appraisal. No promotions . There is no standard of giving salary. Junior employee in same team with lower band could have higher salary than senior with upper band. They do not give any goodies on Diwali/new year. They do not give any money on referrals. Just the extra miles points.
