Cognizant being my first company had to act like a parent who supports a newborn child but it has done just the opposite. The only thing to like about it is I was able to manage to stick to it for more than 6.5 years without proper hike or promotions on time.

Dislikes

There are 'N' number of things to dislike about Cognizant but people who support cognizant will start to say I might have been a very bad performer and hence I am talking ill about the company which is absolutely not the fact. To all those, I gotta say you firstly a very poor performer cant stay more than 6.5 years in the same company and you might be in a different situation in a different project but this experience is solely based on my experience and I am no poor performer, believe it or not I was able to get a 200% better pay in a span of 6 months after I left Cognizant. Few things I would like to present out of the 'N': 1. The Project managers 'Most' of them, are self cerntric and decide on who is to be promoted next in their own will and there is no clue who governs it and on what basis. 2. Career growth will be stagnant if you choose to stay in a support project. 3. Even if you wish to move to a different domain by upskilling yourself, the management doesnt let you do it unless you wanna quit the company or just stop doing any kind of work and the project manager decides to release you with a bad rating. 4. Onsite opportunity is like getting 1kg of mutton during covid lockdown on a sunday which never happens unless you know the mutton shop owner personally and know his whereabouts and he is ready to take the risk of offering you the mutton despite the lockdowns 5. Career advise: If you are put into a support project, no matter what happens try to get out of it ASAP even if your job is at stake. Do whatever it takes to come out of it and find a better opportunity if not within cognizant, search elsewhere you will definitely find a better one.
