Interview Preparation Tips

Round: HR Interview
Experience: When I went for the interview, I had no ideal that they were hiring for this position. They had asked for my previous work experience and based on that, they shortlisted my CV and asked me to wait for the next round.
Tips: Do not expect anything and stay clear in your thoughts. Do not think too much about the interview and do not try to impress anyone.

Round: Resume Shortlist

Tips: Do not expect anything and stay clear in your thoughts. Do not think too much about the interview and do not try to impress anyone.

Round: Resume Shortlist
Experience: After shortlisting the resume they started off with the voice and accent round to check my comand over the English language and grammer and vocabulary skills.
Tips: Do not rush to try to speak fast. Take your time and talk slowly. Try and use a nutral accent and do not fake the accent if you cannot manage to carry it over.

Round: Problem Statement
Experience: I had applied for the American Express FRAUD prevention team so they asked me a situation where I had to deal with a Amex card member and prevent fraud on his card. In the been ming I got a little nervous (getting nervous is a part and parcel of the game) but then I was able to get the trick of dealing with a person like that over the phone.
Tips: Eventhough nervousness is present, do not loose your focus on the given situation and try to find a way to solve the given problem instead of getting more nervous. This is a bit hard process to do but a little bit of experience would do the trick.

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Resume Shortlist
Tips: Get resume ready early in the process, iterate and improvise based on reviews of seniors. Try getting reviews from friends across IITs (helps to get fresh perspectives and creative ways of writing - especially the POR section)

Round: Test
Experience: Mathematical puzzles and problems
Tips: Be quick - don't spend too much time on a single question
Duration: 90 minutes
Total Questions: 30

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: I wrote down all the involved equations and explained the process in brief. I had a project in speech in one of my earlier interns. Hence, the question was asked. I believe they tested my familiarity with the math stuff and the depth till which I have dug and understood in my earlier projects.
Tips: Be reasonably elaborate but precise. Be calm but show energy and excitement about answering questions, especially where significant amount of puzzle solving or math or problem solving is expected (bonus points for taking the pen out and listing down stuff or working out stuff on paper - to signify and convey things better)

Round: Behavioural Interview
Experience: Was very nice. Usually experienced people are sweet and nice in the interview. And it's nice to reciprocate the same and have a good meaningful discussion.
Tips: Be passionate about stuff you have done/worked on and explain it well. I also remember asking something about the firm to the interviewer, which showed my prior effort to know more about the firm. I believe that gave some brownie points (although I don't say it's absolutely necessary). For any interview, not just this firm, BE GENUINE. That's one most important aspect of an interview.

Skills: Problem solving skills, passion, quick learner
College Name: IIT MADRAS
Motivation: After two core internships, wanted a non-core internship. But after the internship, loved the team and the work they did. Hence, took the PPO!
