I did not like anything working at Amex, the only good happened to my that I few good people to work with who are not just colleagues but are more of friends and family now.

Dislikes

I would this is the worst organisation I have ever worked with. There is no work-life balance, if we talk about the customer service department the worst thing is you to inform them a month in advance that would are planning leave for this day and then you have to apply on a portal now here the worst thing, once you send you leave request they will check if the leave is not clashing with any other team member, which means that on a single given day only one ccp can take an approved leave and another person has to take leave it will be an unplanned leave because only one leave will be coded. Work-life balance: There is no work life balance that you will ever get. They change your shift every month. One month you are doing a early monrning shift (5:30 AM-2:00PM IST) next month they will change your timings to (2:30 AM to 11:00 PM IST). and when you ask you will hear a response that you signed up for night shift, business needs and all that ilogical reason. The pressure is so immense that I had to resign and still my manger played, I resigned on 29th April 2024 because of work pressure, work environment and my manager accepted my resignation, he asked me if I would be serving notice period, I informed him on the email yesterday (8th May 2024) that I will be serving notice period and told I reached office at (12:30 AM) my ID card was not working, I was not aware about any of this, I went to reception to check if something is wrong and they told me I have been terminated, like SERIOUSLY! I was shocked and deeply disappointed when I heard that my employment was terminated abruptly despite my intention and commitment to serve notice period. This action was unexpected and has put me in a challenging position. Now my manager is calling and asking me to draft an email from my personal email stating that I won't be able to service period becuase of medical and personla reasons, which was not the case at all. He is trying to coverup for himself becuase if I accept that there will no questions on him and it will come to me that it was me who was not able to serve notice period. This is absolute cheating, how can you do this to someone....Read More

- Good work culture is a scam. The environment in actual in pathetic. There is no process in place to handle incidents of bad behaviour. I myself have faced eve teasing, and when raised it with senior leadership, they asked me to ignore it and focus on work. When I raised it with the CLR team ( colleague labor and relations), they said it doesn't fall under their work basket. The only reason Amex tops in the workplace culture is because they are very good at hiding incidents of bad behaviour. So many people around us have left because of the same. One of the incidents involved someone directly reporting to MD India, still no action was taken. - Promotions are very difficulty to get. There aren't much vacancies anyways, and some of which that do come up, they already have an internal candidate decided. They only post those vacancies in portal for compliance sake. They keep advertising lateral movement instead of vertical movements. - Low salaries compared to competitors. -They have been actively hiring female employees to maintain the gender ratio, but do nothing when we face discrimination by our managers or are misbehaved by other male colleagues. Two female analysts under my VP team have already left this year citing mental health issues. - They are not laying off people because they have been actively placing people in PIP. Every director has been informed the no of people to eliminate from their team. PIP itself creates so much mental pressure that the employee themselves end up resigning. Hence the attrition rates have also increased, but no news of layoffs....Read More

My colleague were the only motivation for working in the company.

Dislikes

Worst experience in my 10 years of IT industry. No growth in terms of skill development or monetary benefits. The leadership is waste. They think of juniors as their slave . No job security.can be thrown out in 6 months on the grounds that management hierarchy changed. And you leader will not say a single word. Uses all the old technology.
