Good work life balance. They will not fire you.

Dislikes

Appraisals and promotions are very stagnant and mostly irrespective of your performance. Ratings are average for maximum people and if you outperform, you'll get 2% hike extra. That's it. And promotions are only on the basis of years of exp. And after completing that too, they can delay for an year or two.

Likes

Good company for stubborn people. Not good for sincere people. Not recommended if you have good analytical and learning mind.

Dislikes

Appraisals not good. Work culture is very bad. Learning discouraged. Overworked resources.

I am not very happy with the culture and the way Managers treat their team. Specially at the time of appraisals. They don't give any benefits or promotions or incentives. If you hear any then must be from clients end which is rear too. TCS will be good for people to retire or fly outside India.

Dislikes

Poor increment in appraisals. Approx 2% + taxes or PF is average. Always below inflation.

TCS have a very sturdy job security. Also if you have ambition for onsite opportunities, TCS provides more options for that provided you have to be vocal about the same from beginning. Work life balance is also quite good.

Dislikes

There is no learning growth. Even if you learn new things, it is very rare that the same skill sets will be asked to apply on your project. Repetitive works exist. Appraisal cycle and promotion criteria are very bad. No clear cut answers to promotions and high chances that those will get delayed.

Less visibility. Low to none interaction with management for any issues and concerns. Cheap behaviours by managers. Strict 5 days work from office. Not good behaviour during notice period. Reducing notice period without concent and then breaching the contract.

The appraisal process needs improvement. The goals and achievements are calculated differently than the actual measurable results.

Some of the project and their management is not that great, but you can ask to project switch and maybe they will release you in 5-6 months from project if better opportunities are there.
