When i have joined Power System Control Centre i thought i will do some technical work with some analysis but this department is worst among all the department. There are no Likes to write about, only dislikes. 1. Basically 90 % it is a call centre type job (You have to receive minimum 150-200 calls over phone in one shift) 2. Afterreceiving such large amount of calls employees are getting sick seriously (They are getting migrane & bp problems as serious life long health issues) 3. All experience employees who have joined here came from good work background (like Project, Operations & Maintenance , Solar/Wind ) but now they are only receiving calls & doing data entry job. So technical growth is zero hero, zero is infact more technical growth is negative. Whatever they have learnt earlier, it will be vanished soon if work in PSCC long time. 4. Work Load is the biggest problem in PSCC. Upper Management has forced employees to work like slave because 1 people is doing work of 3-4 people. Reason is expectation, upper management has increased load on every desk but they are not providing proper manpower, for this upper management gets scolded over mail from other subsequent department. Employees are forced to do more work. 5. People sitting in upper management of PSCC has absolutely zero vision coz they are increasing load day by day but dont know how many manpower required for work. They have spent maximum time of their work life in this worst department. So, they dont have much idea about how practical work is going on in field. Even employees from other department is ignoring them because everyone knows reality how technical sound they are. (If any Cross functional team forms for any technical work, u will not see single people from PSCC) 6. People who have started their career from PSCC or have spend maximum time in this department only is not getting any single call from other companies for Job, yes you can definitely work in any call centre of india. (So try to not join this department if u are having technical degree) 7. Appraisals (😂) - Not fair & dont expect much till you work here. (Try to switch company or department as soon as possible, but try till end) Biased appraisals, even boss have no valid reason to say why they have cut your appraisal and given to chaatu employee (P5). Employee who will do personal work of boss, say yes for every silly wrong work & will be favorite they will only get appraisal & survive here. Appraisals are not fair. 8. Rest On - Due to more workload & less manpower, you can be called on duty anytime on your rest day. Upper management will not do single work or single meeting on their rest day but they wanted shift person to attend every meeting & do work on your rest day (That's totally unfair & unethical)...Read More

Dislikes

Have given so much points in like that no points remain to write in dislikes. 1. Shortage of manpower 2. Work Load 3. Appraisals (NOT FAIR) 4. No Vision regarding work & manpower 5. Night Shifts (No Allowance, HOD has never taken a stand to talk with HR regarding allowance, he will only take stand to do more work but expect nothing) 6. No Team Outings/Get together (Only work here)

1. Job Security 2. Work Life Balance- e.g. 30 Annual Day & 10 Day Sick Leave. 3. Variable Increment based upon performance. ( In Big Corporate Increment % are fixed based upon PMS Rating however Tata Power has initiated Variable % Increase over and above regular performance to good performer. It has happened only in 2024 . Let see if it continues)

Dislikes

1. Toxic Work Place - Age Gap b/w Reportee and Manager. 2. Poor Support of HR wrt Work Place Conflicts or Mental Health Issue due to Toxic Work Place. (Policy , Well Being Program and etc are available and executed but real required support is not provided) Reason: Huge Age Gap between Managers and Reportee which leads to dissatisfaction in both and particularly reportee. Tata Power has very good job security which means employee stay here for long even if employee performance is poor or border line mediocre. Elder employees are in Head or Managerial position who hesitate to accept new working culture. Engineering Graduates - Fresher are way smarter and come up with certain expectations however this turn toxic when old ideas or work culture are mandated to follow by their manager or Head. Although Leadership is good but culture is not driven till bottom. Leadership is trying to change above scenario for e g reducing avg age of employee by hiring GETs, more women employee but still long way to go....Read More
