The team is excellent. One of the reasons why most people find it difficult to work in other companies once they've served here is because of the environment in the team. Everyone is cheerful. There are no hard and fast rules. Work from home opportunities help maintain a good work life balance and the manager is probably the most understanding human one can come across.
1. Low appraisals 2. No salary bonus or incentive. 3. Fewer break timings. 4. Internal politics. But it's not in our team, so things are harmless. 5. Strict hierarchy, which makes it difficult to get in touch with the director.
My work is exciting. I love English and my work feeds my curiosity. I love giving feedback to writers. My manager understands that my job is difficult, so he helps a lot. I really love my job.

If you have supportive manager and team members, you can get through the day.
The company portrays that they value their employees but the truth is they don't. Your work is not appreciated, which is pretty evident from the appraisal that you get. I was with them for 3.4 years and went through 2 appraisal cycles during that duration. Each time, I had to put down my papers because the hike that they offered wasbeyond acceptable. And it's not like they can't afford appreciating your hardwork; they definitely can. They revised my appraisal both the times. I am not promoting this practice at all; I am just saying that there is nothing wrong in asking for a package/hike you deserve for your hardwork that brings profits for the company. They are highly unprofessional (I would go so far as calling them unethical) when it comes to handling downsizing. They sacked an entire team, basically giving their employees no choice but to resign. They didn't fire the team to avoid getting that tag. In the process, they wreaked havoc on the mental health of so many employees, including mine. They are all about painting a picture of a healthy work culture but the management can be unfair and unprofessional whenever it suits their needs without giving two thoughts about employee well-being. 1. Bad culture 2. Too much politics 3. Insensitive professionals 4. They fire without any reason by making excuses that are not comprehensible. 5. Doesn't promote upskilling of the employees 6. Very less pay compared to other organizations in the segment 7. No proper way to give feedback for the projects or work delivered. 8. HRs are also not professional. Friendly nature of colleagues, got salary on time.
There is no job security, no overtime pay (even if they ask you to work after regular hours), no employee insurance, and you will have to work even if you are sick. There is no reimbursement if you are going home late at night from a cab. Some days you will have to work for 36 hours straight. And the manager will be like, 'We work only 3 months' (only he does, we have to work full year).
