The above points in the "Like working there" section are accompanied by restrictions and conditions for employees: 1 - Training portal is available with online as well as classroom training sessions. For every classroom training that you wish to attend, prior approval by your manager is required and business should not be affected. Since it all depends on manager's approval, that one person can deliberately not allow you to opt for such sessions. 2 - JP Morgan has Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) for employees who wish to pursue courses from institutions. However, again depends on manager discretion. So if you are lucky to have a good manager, there are not much issues. But if you work for a bad boss, they will never allow you for it (like was the case in Controls Management-CMO). 3 - JP Morgan India Services follows too much of cost-cutting. This in turn results in it being technologically challenged. They try to use free software and tools for huge volumes of data. Employees end up working on slow tools which takes ages to process. 4 - Work environment depends entirely on which team you are a part of. Some have really good friendly environment. Some are extremely stressful and hectic leaving you with absolutely no work-life balance. 5 - Senior management has too much power and if they have contacts higher up in the firm, they may make or break your career. 6 - Bureaucracy has been an age-long problem here. 7 - Refrain from upgrading software or automate daily tasks 8 - Favoritism is predominant<mark style="background-color: #fff5e4;">. Hence, performance becomes second priority</mark>. 9 - Arrogant and egoistic senior management constantly threatening to reprimand you even for the smallest of errors. Working in the Controls Management Organization (CMO) team [formerly called Oversight and Controls (O&C)] was an extremely unpleasant experience. Employees are treated as slaves, verbally abused, judged and cornered if they question senior management.

Great opportunity to learn and get a Brand stamp in your resume. Salary and appraisals are good if you work hard. Bonuses are huge depending on your performance.
