The work environment at EY is really good. The working policy is flexible. Along with work there are social events, team building activities and a good leave policy which really enhance the working experience at EY.

Dislikes

Though there is flexibility in working hours, during interim and busy seasons it is expected to work for 11-12 working hours which is quite stressful. Your better working experience will also be dependent on the team that you get aligned to.

Their regional discrimination among the team members while offering work(loads) and while offering rewards and promotions for the same(nothing). I was in the Hitrust team and was reporting to now manager then senior consultant and senior manager, was pathetic in the behaviour, use to talk always in a bad way and senior manager always asked to stretch work hours which we always end up doing because we all not love but need the job and never gave feedbacks, during the time of promotions she never came back and told why I was not being promoted or when were the occasions when she was told my work was not up to the mark- never but yet 6 months experience 8 months experienced guys get promoted who never ever worked on end to end projects....Read More

The culture is very toxic with office politics always taking first place. Even if you outperform your peers you will not get appraisal or bonus because office politics may not allow it

As soon as your project ends, HR will force you to resign. Do not consider working in EY as full time, you will be working as a contractor to hire.

Hardly anything good other than office parties, huddles and hybrid working model. Job security is there just because they won't easily fire you as even they know that won't be able to get a replacement as good as you in that petty budget.

Dislikes

Too much of internal politics, linguistic & regional favoritism and division in between teammates and sub teams. Hardly any good appraisals either. Overtime is highly normalized, expecting you be available 24x7 for them.

I don't understand their FTE conecpt, most of the Employees in Govt Advisory are hired on FTE basis and even though most of them do BDEV along with project they are not part of company bonus. Any one who has been working on multiple things should be part of company bonus as per my view. To convert to on roll from FTE is still shady and many people don't know how to get it done

This is big firm but having multiple small teams which makes a full big organization, so ultimately you will be working under one partner & size of the team would be 50-100 so, it's similar to startup company, 2. You will feel lot of micromanagements. 3. there will be No guarantee for your job, any time they can say you TATA, Bye-Bye. 4. Chargeability concept is very bad, even after working 8 hours you might have to show that you did nothing. 5. Work life balance completely depends on your client. Learning materials are good. Not much interference from EY TEAM as you will hve limited interaction with them ,mostly with clients.
